If we couldn't get Sanchez as part of the Suarez deal we should have tried for Masch. I'd have taken £30m and Masch
holding player for holland.
Looks like Markovic deal is on, not heard too much about him other than on here, but he certainly looks decent in the youtube vids! lighting quick, good close control, he has to work on his shooting though.

Masch was incredible last night, probably the best I've ever seen him play. But I'd want more than £30mil + Masch. Otherwise your valuation of Masch is around 40mil and he's 30. He's a fantastic player but due to his age I wouldn't want to pay more than 20mil max (and that's pushng it).

20mil for Markovic is good business in my opinion and 6mil (plus add ons) is also good business for Orgy. So hopefully we'll land both. Send Orgy back for a year, get game time and come back a better player

i agree the BBC is so far gone it may as well change its name to caught offside and put the manc badge up rather than the bbc logo.
Its really serious as they are cutting their own throats. I can download the sky phone app free and run it with all the same live updates and better coverage. If they don't play fair in the bbc they will all basically lose their jobs as nobody will be reading/listening.

Agree about masch but dirk was pants. Worked hard but he's not a LW back. Always coming inside and his crossing was awful. You know he will always give his absolute best but not a good idea by the genius that is LVG.
However I did think Vlaar was immense. Shame the gutless tossers who wouldn't stand up for their country put him that position. But then again the genius that is LVG puts him on first! Should have been last choice of the five. Wonder who would have took them if it had gone to sudden death.

I only saw the first half and then penalties as I slept for the rest. However, Kuyt was RWB in that first half and he played very well I thought.
As for the gutless comment, I think that's a bit harsh since we don't have all the facts. Players are very superstitious. Maybe the two he asked to go first were players that took one of the second to fourth penalties against Costa Rica and they didn't want to move after scoring last time out? My only question would be, why didn't Huntelaar step up instead but then, maybe he was fifth in both cases?
If I was going to question anything, it would be Van Gaal allowing them to dictate to him. I thought he was meant to be a hard nut tough manager that didn't take **** from players? Why not tell them their going first rather than ask?
Well according to his comments he said that he asked two who didn't want to take penalties so I don't think gutless is harsh. And it still doesn't answer the question as to why Vlaar went first. Surely Robben, huntelaar or whoever have enough experience to take a pen. Superstition...bollocks and if that's the case it probably cost them a place in the final.
As for kuyt. Yes he was ok first half but as he spent the next 75 mins at LWB then I judge him on that and he was poor. Not his fault I'd like to add because the guy would play in goal ( and probably do better with the pens) if asked.

Whether you believe it or not is irrelevant, superstition is a massive part of football and WOULD influence a players response in such a high pressured situation. If it was someone that didn't take a penalty at all then its slightly different.
Anyway on to more interesting things
