The fact that Dicky was prepared to sell the Valley to recoup his losses before S&J came in also casts doubt on Roland's statement that we will be staying at Charlton. I find it a bit unsettling that such a big forum as CL is so rabidly pro-Murray. Up until Curbs left he was a wonderful chairman, but the minute Curbs left........Oh dear!
A true Charlton fan that did some great things but is horribly out of touch and out of date. Give him a seat for life, but no say in any sort of decision making.
Had to vote yes... I don't believe a word of what's said from the club at the moment, and I won't until I see some players come in who are ready. And given Murray is supposed to be the voice of the owners, the only honest interview I've heard is from the owner himself, it wasn't positive, but at least it was honest.
I agree with Thurrock. No decisions ever again, but a seat in the stand to watch the games....why not.
Looks like we have been shafted again!! http://www.claretandhugh.info/poyet...utm_campaign=poyet-deal-may-have-been-a-steal How many times does that man have to agree to crap deals on behalf of Charlton? For god sake and the future of Charlton GET HIM OUT OF OUR CLUB. AllHell
RM is the non-executive Chairman... the non-executive bit normally means that they normally get involved with things that interest them rather than the day-to-day stuff...... RM enjoys negotiating crap deals for Charlton. If it is RM or not it sounds like somebody has agreed to a poor deal.
We don't know what deal was agreed. Had it gone to a tribunal, the details would be public knowledge. As it is, it is easier to hide money going into our owner's back pocket. Which player do we want from West Ham on loan? Andy Carroll?
On occasions like this I am reminded of the old joke.. "How can you tell when Richard Murray is lying?" Answer- his lips move. Lets be honest, aside from the hardcore Charlton Taliban, replete with bad combovers and white T shirts under baggy cardigans, who takes Murray seriously these days ? He is like a modern day Lord Haw Haw, wheeled out on occasions to spout useful propaganda.
To be fair this is a west ham source and therefore are not going to say that they paid over the odds for an unproven player, especially when he wont even see the ball as it gets hoofed from defence to the forwards!!
I do worry that Richard Murray's involvement has been the biggest problem for Charlton over the past seven or eight years and wonder if Administration (like Palarse did) would have been a better solution when we were falling out of the Championship 6 years ago?
He was there sitting next to the new manager wringing his hands as he always does while being soundly rogered by the Douche and treated like a unexpected fart by the wicked witch, so my question is...... What role has Murray actually got at Charlton? Does the Douche think that Murray has some influence (or admiration from!) over supporters? If so he is sadly mistaken. If the man had any self respect he would tell the Douche that he is nobody's puppet and to shove his job, he has to do something to retain the respect that some fans must still hold for him. He seems unable or unwilling to defend the fans interests at the club. Do the right thing Dicky and resign over how the new manager has been appointed !! and regain your balls pal. AllHell
I have now listened to the interview in question twice. Richard Murray stated that the most important relationship in a football club must be, above all else, between the owner and the manager! Excuse me, but surely this must be between the manager and the fans. Owners can make whatever decisions they like supposedly for the good of the club. However, if the fans who pay their hard earned cash for season tickets etc, do not have any regard or respect for those in charge they will most certainly vote with their feet. The consequences being obvious. The CEO. was pushed by a journalist on the point of interviews, stating that she had 20 applicants within the hour of the vacancy being announced; she squirmed with embarrassment when asked how many were actually interviewed, how many had championship experience etc (she suddenly forgot how to speak), and basically evaded the question. I never thought l would say this, but Charlton now deserve everything they get, including relegation. At that time RD. can sell the club and take his circus out of South London!!
I wouldn't say Charlton deserve everything they get - that's a bit short sighted as eventually it is the fans who lose out.
