Fifa are utter ****s but frankly Suarez is no longer our problem. We're getting the max we could get for him anyway. Barca's **** to deal with

Seen a few articles saying we are selling Suarez cut price. Has anypone else heard about this? Im hoping its bollox of course

There is a link to an article on the link Dribbles posted below that say we're getting £63mill- with £54mill now- the rest in installments. £63mill is what the original reports said we were going to get. Seems a tad low... although £54mill immediately is more than I would have expected the club to get as an immediately lump sum. Barcelona has deep pockets.

<laugh> Really conclusive evidence that.... some guy with his back to the camera from 50 feet away.

A link on there saying we're after greizmann for £20m. Think he'll be a brilliant player but maybe a little lightweight at the moment for the Prem. Seemed to easily get brushed off the ball during the WC.

54 is good upfront. Id prefer us to be holding out for the release clause though.

All reports the last few days have been saying that Barca are willing to meet the release clause at around £70m but it's just how it's structured that's the stumbling block.

Because they don't have the money. We shouldn't be even considering structured payment, don't have enough to pay for one of the best players in the world then move on.

In all honesty does anybody, apart from Tobes, truly give a **** about Everton's prospects for the season - or the ones after if it comes to that? There's far too much scope to consider just who we need to import and how we are gong to change tactics to continue the start that we made last season!

Now Berkley isn't coming to us. I'm as yet unsure if he is what we need. The kid has talent but is truly not yet ready for a full Prem season - let alone CL. So let him learn those lessons elsewhere. Hate to say it but there's as good out there for far less money.

probably not, but neither was sanchez yet we were allowed to talk about him, and I disagree re not ready yet - the lad is a combination of Gazza and Gerrard at that age, he's English, we KNOW he can do it in the Prem, and in a strong squad where he was rested appropriately he'd flourish. Easy worth £40 right now. Be worth double that in by the next WC.

I've got £35 in my wallet at the moment, if someone else chips in the fiver we could get him <diva>

Absolutely. What was all the grandstanding with Arsenal for last summer if we're going to let him go for just a bit more on the never-never? Again, it should be @ £90m if they want him on tick - every one else has to pay extra for credit.

I live down south, £35 will get you a half a sandwich in London <ok>

I've got a loyalty card for Cad's hairdressers and a f**ing £100-odd receipt from the vet's for my fat lab in my wallet because the stupid f**er hurt his leg chasing a squirrel he was never going to catch. Feel like that episode of the Simpson's where Santa's Little Helper's operation clears out the family.

Think having a dog is expensive as Southern sandwiches.

<laugh> Love dogs but some of them are bloody stupid sometimes

I think the difference is that our owners have had enough this time around and want to get shut.
And it's not Arsenal.

Lads I think one key point here is that it's not credit

It's a sensible and commonplace agreement

Lfc is unlikely to spend all of it this summer.... If you take it all in you then will show more profit before tax therefore have to give some to her majesty

Therefore split it over a number of years and spend it on the right player and her majesty can go swivel

Tax and affordability and ffp all dictate this system is more normal than stupid mad Arab spending

Sale for the year is always GROSS Sale, whether the buyer pays in full or not.
The balance is always classified among "DEBTORS" in the account, I do not think
Football Clubs accounting is difference from the 'general principle'of
accounting' Anyone to throw lights?.

accounting principles are the same in any industry you work in, only dif may be that because football clubs generally deal with larger amounts of money (ie millions not thousands) their accountants probably know better ways to show profit and loss.
