It's quite funny to watch. I'm glad Paulinho isn't playing. Psychologically defeats get no worse then this and some of these players may never play for Brazil again after this.

I never thought I'd be so glad to have no connection to the Brazil football team. Granted some of this is Silva being out, but the level of organization and closing down will be hard for anyone involved with this team to live down. The last 5-0 at half was Poland - Haiti in 1974, they say.

I've got to say Hulk is crap, again, even if the defenders have been even worse. Oscar could be the picture beside the phrase "call a boy to do a man's job."

On the bright side for Brazil, are Neymar and Silva good, or what?

Hulk is crap, Fred is crap. The pundits are going to have a field day at half time. 15 minutes won't be long enough for Alan Hansen to dissect the terrible defending!

I said Brazil had been Lucky like Chelsea and now it's run out and thank goodness. Hope Chelsea's does too.

Even allowing for the bottle jobs in the back four and MF, I am starting to think "match fixing" ,

Surely no one would be this brazen.

I was about to curse Scolari for making Paulinho take part in this fiasco, and he provides Brazil's best moment--not that that's saying much.

And now Brazil are adding diving and farcical finishing to their other sins.

Neuer is a great keeper. But Brazil are making him look much better by firing everything pretty much straight at him!....

"Surely no one would be this brazen."

What were the pre-match odds ob Germany winning and scoring at least 5 ??
Gotta have been in the hundreds.

I'm usually not too far away from the grassy knoll, but it would be very hard, not to mention expensive, to arrange this kind of performance from a team of zillionaires.

Brazil could have had three by making a simple pass.

"I don't think there's been a whole lot of [diving] in this competition." Ian Darke

    The mind boggles.

The rest of the team is certainly making him shine by comparison. He's been decent, along with Marcelo in the second half.

    7-0. Can they score 10?

No Zeal comes through! And turns the tide for Brazil.

    Albeit a bit late.

7- ****ing nil! In a WC semi final! Brazil, hang your heads in shame. Even the Faroe Islands would have put up a better fight than this!....

I'm still not predicting a Germany win in the final.

The German ruthless machine! We saw Bayern destroy Barca (7-0) and much of the German team are Bayern players. Now 7-1 against Brazil. We're probably to blame for beating Germany 5-1 with Emile Heskey, that embarrassment must have drove them to never be in that position again!

Luiz Felipe Scolari, Rivaldo, the fat Ronaldo, David Luiz, Willian, Ronaldinho, Fred, Jo, that crap left back we had at Spurs, and every single one of those obnoxious bastard fans...Ihre Jungen nahmen eine Hölle von einer Tracht Prügel!

The funniest thing is the knowledge that they deserved everything that happened to them, given their clogging of James Rodriguez, the constant stream of players diving and feigning injury, their obnoxious fans, the increasingly suspect refereeing, and the sycophantic fawning they received from commentators and pundits who didn't appear to be watching the game. In fact, Brazil looked so utterly lost not when the score went from three to four, but because for the entire first half Germany removed their main weapon by simply intercepting the through balls and countering, meaning they had no opportunities to dive.

Also, FIFA have warned fans in Brazil not to use the public transport. After all, the whole world just saw what happens when the wheels fall off the bus.

I can't add to that Croydon except when the whistle blew and I saw all the Brazilian players milling around I thought of the great players who used to wear those numbered yellow shirts and this lot just do not compare. Now for me Argentina have been a bit blessed and have relied too heavily on Messi so if Holland can nullify him it will be a European final.

I did chuckle when, even when 7-0 up against a demoralised team in utter disarray, Ozil still couldn't score.

It seemed like there was a post-match inquest happening on the pitch, which is utterly bizarre because it's pretty clear where the blame fell: Scolari for his squad selection, Luiz and Marcelo for being utterly inept in defence, Fernandinho for failing to provide any sort of cover in midfield, and Fred for causing fans to reconsider their opinions on Stephane Guivarc'h.

Seriously, the selection process for the squad makes less sense the further you look: Fred only played as Scolari has stuck with him for his reign no matter how turgid his performances, Jo was in the wilderness for years before the Confederations Cup, while numerous players (Fernandinho, Dante, Willian) were on the peripheries with a handful of caps between them yet they made the squad - and proved why they'd been on the periphery, yet Lucas Moura and Miranda were cut from the final squad while Marquinhos and Sandro didn't even get into the 30-man squad in the first place.
