Neymar doesn't deserve not to play, but hopefully it'll stop him diving so much in the future.

You didn't see legends such as Mooney diving, did you now?

Can you imagine having to write a report about that match? I think I have only ever seen one match more extraordinary than that. no prizes for guessing which......

Bit of debate about how Krul acted during the shoot out - I guess he wasn't pretty but I think the ref allowed him to get away with it.

Felt sorry for Costa Rica though - once again great effort and both teams kept going till the end.

I think he should have been booked for that........ Mind you based on that most test cricketers would be too...

I am way beyond needing points - unless most of you predict England, USA, Italy or Spain to win the semis I am doomed :)

That lot would have made for an interesting couple of semi-finals. Urban Brazil would be in flames for months.

True and I doubt rugby players are too kind on the field to each other despite the positive reputation that sport gets.

If you're ever played front row then you'll know the answer to that. Generally speaking what happens on the pitch stays on the pitch. Only gouging and spear tackles are not forgiven. The referee is always respected though.

I think I played enough to have a reasonably informed opinion, Dan. I've watched enough to vent my spleen otherwise.
On the pitch it was always "yes ref, no ref, three bags full ref"... what ever I may have thought of the decision. Fortunately I only played a few games as hooker so the really nasty stuff happened either side. All forgotten about in the bar after.

    Has it changed?

I think it has changed massively. Now you see players talking to the ref all the time and there are elements of cheating that you did not see in the past. Of course I am only talking about the professional game - I would not be surprised if the amateur game is still the same though to be fair.

I had fancied Germany to win this one, but have to say I never expected this humiliation. 4-0 after 25 minutes - unbelievable...

I also thought that Germany would win, but never expected anything like this. 5-0
