My comment was meant to lighten the put down on Northampton, I think Rick's post was probably beyond his and his brother's understanding! Hey ho, I've got broad shoulders!
Not the first time and it certainely won't be the last. Remember children you're not aloud to have a differential opinion on this forum and you must always be 100% elated about the club even if we're relegated. If you haven't got a decent response or anything worthwhile to say in disagreement you can always tell someone off for poor grammar though Always been impressed by his level of fitness he covers a serious amount of ground in games, I think he'd benefit having a deep playmaker playing along side him someone who is always looking for ball, if we could find a player with those qualities.
I'm sure he will. We need some midfielders with creativity, last time when we were in this league Hoolahan had brilliant form and was a lot younger, a lot of our goals came through him we just don't have that type of player in my opinion.
Overall, I'm happy to be down in the championship for a season (or more) and give us a chance to strengthen the team and perhaps (note PERHAPS!!) give some of our youngsters an opportunity to develop - I'd also include Redmond in that, as I think the injury to E Bennett resulted in Redmond playing more games than CH would have liked. <donstinhatemoticon> !!!!
This, as has been said, will be the real test of Adams managerial credentials. One or two really astute signings in key areas and players such as Fer and Olsson may well think " these guys mean business, maybe we should stick around for another season" which would be a welcome source of optimism for the new season.
It's the missing link for a lot of fans it has been since last summer. We've got a good team we just need to modify it a bit, Adam's likes to have options with forwards so I hope he brings that to the midfield.
I'm not saying anything this time! Seriously, we have to realize that life has changed with relegation, and not all for the worse. In the PL our players were up against top class players much of the time and that puts the greatest pressure possible on them. In the Championship, this will be unlikely, as our players will be the equal or superior to those they face. That makes a big difference, IMO. Passing will improve as a result, penetration of opposing defenses will improve, and the addition in pace that Grabban and Elliot Bennett will provide will put even greater pressure on the opposition.
