I think he's decent. Villa fans are pretty keen on him, it seems. And he does get in the Holland team. We will need better options on the bench though, in case he starts making stupid mistakes.

Yep, the Netherland team thing keeps me reserving judgement and remaining hopeful. I have just thought of him as a bit of an immobile heavyweight, but I haven't seen too much of him.

Nevertheless, I'm sure Liverpool would be interested:)

Ha ha... they have in fact been on already. I was asked not to say anything until my agent has caused enough **** to rock the boat and muddy the waters, but I may never get to wear that sexy new shirt for the Saints after all.

Fonte was the one that concerned us two seasons ago...a lot favoured Maya, but Fonte and Dejan clicked last season. If we can get a good CB in (or keep Dejan), then Maya can be back up. Ron may be able to get more out of him. As we need so many players, it may not be worth replacing a reasonable back up player like Maya.

Lots of rumours aboyut the Swedish winger but if I was Ron I'd want to assess what I already had first. I reckon a couple more weeks before he plays big time.

The highlights reel suggests he is a very good player. You can't always believe them, but what is obvious is that he is strong, has a few tricks, can cross and can hit the ball. If his team mates could finish...

The new Kachloul? We can dream.

I'm sorry, but we cannot have a Saints player who's name sounds like a sneeze.

Kachloul.

The highglights reel also suggests that he can play across the front three (but generally from the left cutting in) and is quite a direct player, with an eye for goal. He sounds like an inexpensive replacments for Jay-Rod whilst he recovers form injury and a definate upgrade on Guly in the squad thereafter.

Granted, you can never be sure with these kind of signings but worth a punt given what he could give the team/squad.

What we need is to have a good stock of players who can play anywhere in that 3. They're far more useful than out-and-out wingers. Tadic and Bahoui would give us a lot of options for rotation, and allow us to drag opposition defenses around, which is something we need to get better at. I just hope we can get a striker in who is good with the ball at his feet and with his back to goal.
