True that, Bale had many mares for Real last season btw, for those talking him up as better than Suarez, he aint
He scored the winner in the copa del ray and in the C.L final. Suarez scored some goals v Norwich though so much be better....

he got a goal or an assist in 23 out of 33 apps last season. Messi got 22 out of 31. The only side in the league who stopped him scoring or creating in both home and away games last season was Chelsea.

We need a replacement who is at Suarez's initial level, not the level we got him to
He scored 111 goals in 159 appearances for Ajax
He scored 82 goals in 133 games for you lot.
It's a myth to suggest you somehow 'created' him
He's a no go.Roberto Firmino
Roberto Firmino
Roberto Firmino
He is banned for the first couple of months and WILL get banned again, that I have no doubt of.
Just going to keep throwing this out there until someone acknowledges it...

Aye, those leagues are comparable right enough.
First stat shows the promise, second stat shows what both he and us worked on him becoming.
Care to guess how many he'll score for Barca in a league where his penchant for toppling will be rewarded and he'll not be ignored when he's kicked black and blue.
I'd agree a bit though, a club can only facilitate a players improvement, the player has to put the work in.
He's a no go.
For me, it's very simple. We need to improve our first XI this summer (and thus the squad). Selling Suarez, for whatever amount of money it would be for, would only make us weaker as, imo, there are only two other players in the world who are capable of having such a huge impact on a game - even if they don't score- and obviously neither would join us. After that, you've got other top drawer players who around Suarez's level but again, many are at top teams already and wouldn't join us. Sanchez is good, but over rated for me. He's not as good as his reputation. He's the best we could hope for from Barca, but still not really a good enough replacement.
If we sell Suarez, we'll be bringing in a lesser player and hoping they'll step up to a higher level like Suarez did. That's a gamble. We've spend years trying to get back into the top 4 and the CL, we're there now, we shouldn't be shooting ourselves in the foot by selling our best player.
He's a tit, but he's our tit and he performed admirably last season in terms of performances and behaviour for us. I believe the club can keep him in line now.
Any first XI that we can come up with without Suarez will be weaker. Only our bench would be stronger.
OK, shows how amazing Chelsea must be then....![]()
Fermino's a no go because of a few reasons; we've not scouted him, there's interest from elsewhere and his club aren't looking to sell anyway.Of course in a ideal world I'd prefer we kept Suarez. But he is going, so may as well at least speculate on how we should try and best fill the void.
You think Firmino is a no go because of price? Or too similar positionally to Lallana/Coutinho etc? Think he'd be perfect for us, but don't see it as particularly likely.

I know it's strange with Suarez and he probably does want to go, but the club only going to sell if his release clause is met. We have to sell him at that price. Unless Barca cough up, he's going nowhere and I don't see Barca paying that much money for him.
This is true,he ain't gone until he's gone.
And Sanchez ain't happening so............................
And look what has happened to their team......
Any time any club other than the El Classico's gets anywhere, the big boy vultures steam in pick the team apart.
Same thing happened in Portugal with Porto. Small club (relatively speaking), win the CL, Chelsea steal their manager (Jose), their best defender (Carvlaho), their right back (Ferreira) , Barca steal their other star player (Deco)....
Has it been confirmed exactly what this release clause fee is?
How much?
I personally feel, the way its going, Liverpool will end up with between £65-70m for him.
FFSI'll just phone Ian AyreFFS
