Not really sure what to make of Southampton Yankmag. They had a great squad, a couple of quality players away from top four in my opinion, and then they sign Osvaldo, possibly the biggest laziest heap of **** striker to ever disgrace a premier league pitch, including Mark Viduka with us and Shola Ameobi. Then Cortese left. Apparently this guy was the brains, and Poch and him skipped hand in hand around the boardroom, but when the affluent owner died, his daughter inherited the club *waits for Andy Gray to pop up*, and her disdain for football and Cortese led to talks about selling the club and Cortese walking. This left a lot of players and the manager unhappy. And then the owner's daughter found out that there were not, in fact, a long queue of Arab investors she could squeeze every last penny from lining up around the block like she imagined, which left her unhappy. So she decides she likes football all of a sudden and wants to make a go of it, but all the players and the manager want to leave. The manager leaves, most of the better players appear set to follow for big bucks, but they're bringing in some cheaper talent to make-up the short-fall. Seems familiar with our situation in some respects.
I think they'll be lucky to get top half next year.
