Barcelona have made an opening offer of £55.7million for Liverpool striker Luis Suarez following talks between the two clubs.

If this is true, try negotiating it to £60m and accept it?

nah... 70mil is the price... thats only a few more pennys or a player or two.

They can throw tello on the pile easy if they wanna.

i would say however that ayre's team is as leaky as a seive if the price bid is out before they've even settled in for the pints prior to fowlers coke party.

Dear Barcelona

No thank you. £80m is his release clause... get close to that or **** off.

Yours sincerely.
Liverpool

Perhaps they're trying to gauge the fans' reaction, see how they split into sell/don't sell? I don't think this is the case, but it would be worrying if it were.

Liverpool

Think you can shorten that replay.

'£80mil or **** off.'

'P.S. Adding Sanchez might lower the price'

£52mil, they must be smoking some quality **** in Barca.

Thinking on it... If in any way real, well it's a great opening offer for lfc

Now the Barca boys are politically committed and thier fans mean if thier president wants re-election he's now got to deliver. This means we have more proof that mugging off arsenal was great business and if we hold firm and stare this lot out we will get our 70 mil

It'll take brinkmanship but if spuds can we can

Dat release clause doe.

Whatever it is make them pay it. Pretty sure it's between £70M and £80M. If Spurs can squeeze £100M out of Real for Bale we should at least get the release clause for Suarez.

The only bargaining power they have is the threat of dragging this out til the end of the window before snatching him and leaving us without a replacement.

I'd take £72m

Maybe even £71.5m if they asked nicely

You're thinking Euros, in pounds it was more like 80 million (78 according to the FIFA website). Point taken though.

They got 80 mil not 100.

72 million or 71.5 million and Aspas?

Think I'm the only person here who thinks if Aspas got the Borini treatment (loaned to a PL where he'd be a starter) he'd probably come good(ish). Remember thinking he looked pretty good against Stoke first game of the season, then his confidence seemed to just disappear.
