Yep, there is one crucial difference though. Deaney has done it in the division we are going to be playing in, for more than one season as well.
We are only speculating about the lad joining us, but even with a straightforward name like"Deeney" several are still spelling it incorrectly. I do hope that he joins us even though that must mean one of Hoops or RvW leaving. We have to factor in who would be the more successful if/ when we return to the Premier league.
Well the best way for us all to learn is to see his name make headlines in a Norwich shirt. So long as Adnams knows how to use him.
Pretty certain the Deeney ship sailed and we moved on to buy Grabban, who looks similar granted having played few seasons at this level and Lafferty who gives us a different option. Also our fans are currently complaining that we signed a player whose a womaniser. Imagine their reaction to a player who went to prison for assault two years ago (personally I feel he's done his time for this but you can be our fan particularly vocal idiot section would bring it up)
loads of footballers are womanisers - if we decided not to buy footballers with this tag, god knows who we'd end up with. its not this attitude that worries me, its his discipline on the pitch which at times, has been decidedly poor.
Newsnow is showing reports of a £10m bid for McCormack! !!!! Apparently both us and Fulham are in for him. Bit much if its true. Think Deeney is better and would cost around £7-8m. When did Championship players with no premiership experience become so expensive?!?! Either would be great but as I say, £10m is a little steep.
We've a;ready got more strikers than we will start the season with were clearly not in for Deeney or McCormack, Apparently McCormack told Celino he wants out of Leeds so I imagine this is a reaction to that. Frankly i refuse too accept a 27 year old who has never played at the top level is worth £10m.
Where? Nothing on either clubs websites or twitter feeds. Not doubting you by the way just interested
It was in the Star: http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/fo...-table-10m-bids-for-Leeds-star-Ross-McCormack Believe that it you feel so inclined!
Completely agree that a player who has never played top level football should never cost £10m. Im not convinced its true for that reason. But then, he is proven at this level and if we are looking to get back to the Prem at the first crack...?
To be fair to Snod IF he did not agitate for a move and the club have taken a £7m+ bid for him then fair enough. I suppose he could have sat out this season not giving 100% until he became a free agent and we would have had one of our top players and wage earners not really interested and then walking for free. This way we get someone in on a longer term deal with resale value and hopefully a bit of ambition to help us bounce straight back up. Good business all round - we get a pretty decent fee for a man in the last year of his contract. Hull get a very good player and Snod gets a payrise and stays in the Prem. He does however have to live near Hull but I am sure he can afford a nice little place out in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside rather than have to live in the city itself which is not exactly Norwich and as a Scot he is no doubt used to constant rain, low temperatures and high winds.
