Mouser Watch #2

Discussion in 'Tottenham Hotspur' started by Hoddle is a god, May 26, 2012.

  1. It says only one word: "Death."

I am left to interpret that as best I can.

I think FIFA has made Suarez's gamble pan out nicely for him. I thought he bit Chiellini purposely to distract Italy from defending when they only had to do it for ten more minutes to go through.

Distracted Italy let in a goal, and Suarez got Uruguay through for the second straight world cup by cheating. The punishment he got is about what he had last year, when he had his best year ever after a nice vacation, which is what he'll have this time.

Have Liverpool forgotten than their bullshitting campaign after Suarez racially abused Evra saw The FA add a few more games to his ban? If they're dumb enough to threaten legal action, especially given six weeks of Suarez's ban is in pre-season, the moment that action gets thrown out (and it will) that's giving FIFA incentive to extend the ban further.

Nowhere have I said that that Suarez is not a cheating scumbag, who doesn't deserve what he's got, and probably more. I merely pointed out that legally, Liverpool may have a case.

  5. Liverpool do not have a case. FIFA governs world football and trumps the FA.

The FA may choose to ignore FIFA, but it will do so at the risk of incurring sanctions.

I doubt that the FA will want to make a protest in favour of Goofy, who has been universally condemned for what he did (for a third time), especially where the FA, itself, was forced to act following Goofy's last bite.

I can't believe that there's not a court that can be found to appeal to. Even Blatter and co are not totally beyond the reach of justice. I have no idea if Liverpool have a case, or not. But, I would not be surprised to see them attempt to do something about losing their best player for over 2 months.

What a load of hypocritical nonsense from Dalgleish. If it were one of Liverpool's lesser players they would dump him faster than a hot turd.

  9. FIFA, like the FA and every other private body that is formed to regulate a club, a sporting event, the local bingo hall, whatever, can choose for itself how it runs itself. If you want to be a member of FIFA, as our FA is, then you abide by its rules; if you don't like those rules, don't be a member. Simple.

Whilst there are rules of law that govern how such bodies administrate themselves, they are extremely difficult to enforce, for the simple reason that the judges cannot, in law, overturn decisions made by these bodies simply because they (the judges) don't like them; they cannot substitute their own decisions for those who were appointed by the body to make the decisions on behalf of the members. The only time that a judge can change a decision made by a person elected by the body's membership is if the decision is so perverse as to be a decision that no reasonable person - acting in the role of the decision-maker - would have made,

FIFA's decision to ban Goofy for a mere 4 months, for his third offence, when they could have gone to a maximum of 2 years, is not, in my view, a decision that is so perverse as to be challengeable by a court of law.

As I've already said, 'Pool do not have a case.

No, the selfish turd did not. So why punish us? And fine him a third of a weeks ****ing salary?? Surely the ultimate would be to kick him in the gonads and fine him 1-2 million. He will be taking a paid extended ****ing holiday! What kind of punishment is that? Moronic slapdash approach from fifa looking to rush a decision and look all big for the media. Neither Uruguay nor Suarez have been punished but liverpool has.

He said he was going so why not sell him, 80 million will get you a good replacement,Uruguay have been punished, they don't have him for the knock-out stages

  12. 'Pool should have got rid of the dozy, toothy twat when he racially abused Evra. What happened instead? Oh, yeah... Kenny-boy had a load of tee-shirts printed with the words "support Goofy" written all over them, and forced the rest of the squad to wear them. That, for most of us, lost us any lingering respect that we might have had for LFC.

But, then, to top it all, after the gormless Goofy leech bit that Chelski player, LFC and you Mousers all came out, yet again, and supported him. What 'Pool should have done is sack the piece of ****.

'Pool is being punished because it is stupid and greedy in trying to keep hold of a player who is a violent, brainless cretin, and who should not be allowed to play - ever - let alone for a mere 4 months.

When are you Mousers going to learn that the kind of behaviour exhibited by Goofy is not to be tolerated? Clearly, you haven't learnt the lesson, not even after this third offence! Unbelievable!

Sack a multi million pound player? Do behave. If we did this how would we be able to receive barcelona's grubby euros? Principles vs 60million, think I choose 60 mil!

A court may decide otherwise. The courts have already been used against the regulatory bodies over restraint of trade issues - Bosman ruling, etc. I still would not be surprised to see Liverpool challenge this judgement.

Courts may decide not to get involved, because of the amount of flack they will receive if they do

  17. I really don't think so, not in this case.

I do have some experience of these types of issues. I can assure you, that 'Pool have to jump an extremely high hurdle, and I cannot see that FIFA's decision - taking into account all the circumstance, past history, warnings, etc - has made a decision that is so perverse as to entitle any judge to substitute his decision for that of the committee that made its decision in full accord with its own rules.

    #8157
  18. That absolutely is not something that the court would be worried about.

  19. I'm disappointed, Red. I was hoping that you, of all Mousers, would be different.

If Bale had done something the equivalent of Goofy - I don't know... say smuggled a sheep onto the field and then buggered it in front of a stand of kiddies - I'd have no hesitation is my beloved Spurs kicking his and the sheep's arses right out the gate, and not expecting a penny in return.

...If Bale had done that, is what I'm saying.

You may well be right, mate. I'm sure The Mousers will take legal advice and go from there.
