I have watched many games of live football in my life and I have followed Suarez career since his Ajax days! The Best player I have ever seen and it has been a privilege to watch him play! I was delighted when he chose to play for Liverpool and I will alway be a big supporter of Luiz Suarez. Genius like him do not come around very often and he has given me some great football experiences. End of!

its one incident of cheating. it was bad moment, that's for sure, but nobody can compare biting three people with a deliberate handball, no matter the circumstances. its laughable!

Nice to see such a big fan puts the effort in to spell his name correctly....<whistle>

So where do you draw the line as a fan? Biting someone is apparently ok, what if you're an Oscar Pistorius fan?

well i too have followed him since his groningen days :smiley-finger007: yet i use my eyes and brain to analyse what i'm watching and unfortunately, despite the clear genius he possesses, he's a total scumbag. he is everything that is bad about football. he blatantly cheats, he bites, he tries to cover incidents up, he no longer deserves anyones support. one incident, sure, benefit of the doubt should be given. two incidents, again, i'm all for rehabilitation, but this is going on and on and on. he's got a back catalogue of horrific incidents larger than his front nashers.

he should have been sacked by his club last season but they didn't have the balls (which i can understand when that sort of money is involved) but instead produced an unreal and hilarious campaign backing him, making them, a decent club, look like ****ing idiots. he's making mugs of everyone at liverpool and yet STILL people buy into it.

    absolutely, unbelievably, stupid.

Give it a rest JWM, even you must be fed up by now with continually showing yourself up! Look around you, who's springing to your defense? Even Guru is against you! <doh>

who says i didn't condemn him? everybody did as i recall. but i think its more acceptable to handball a football than sink your teeth into three people.

    comprende?

A nice view of the incident from someone to whom the result meant little presumably.

the connotations of that handball may well have effected a nation in terms of despondency, just as maradona's hand of god did with mine, but was it a vicious act? one intended to physically hurt an opponent? totally different circumstances and not comparable

    I wasn't comparing them though, was I.

I was merely responding to Warky's comment that everyone thinks Henry was a saint, and that one person, at least, disagrees with said comment. <ok>

Maybe not highlighting my quote would have helped! <laugh>

I wasn't really going to get involved in the Suarez debate. Like most people I thought it was despicable, and worthy of a lengthy ban.

I do think, though, that's it seems worse because the nature of the incident is so alien to us. I doubt any of us have encountered it whilst playing! Making such a fuss about it, in my view, belittles other savage acts like elbowing in the face or (often seemingly deliberately) attempting to break someone's leg.

Chiellini did manage to finish the game, wasn't stretchered off or left needing his cheekbone re-structured. Just saying, not condoning. <ok>

ah - didn't realise i'd highlighted your quote! sorry.

lets not forget that biting is not just horrible and disgusting, its potentially dangerous - there are germs in the mouth that can cause infections that are hard to treat. suarez is making calculated decisions to bite people. nobody reacts like that on instinct - he knows what he is doing. leg breaking tackles are often a case of split-second decision making. there are exceptions of course but they normally end in lengthy bans too and quite rightly.

So Rooney's elbow into the face of McCarthy was just the result of a split second decision then!
