I agree with the ban in principal but I'm really annoyed that he cannot train because that will have a negative on his game and lower his value to Liverpool and I feel that is unfair on our club.

Im sure there will be a way around the 'ban' on training... After all if they really want to stop him from going to stadiums, games, training grounds or anything else associated with football they may as well lock him up...!!! I agree with you Luvgonzo, that bit in the whole ban seems a bit draconian to me really, and im sure it would go against his rights to be able to keep in shape, as after all its how he earns a living... All be it a very well paid one...!!!

That's what is really getting to me, I want us to sell him but after 4 months of no football and not being able to train what state is he going to be in? This is going to affect his value and that's just not right.

ah lads of course he can trian.. he just can't trian at melwood.. ffs theres plenty of means to train.

I personally am comfortable with ban as punishment and feel uraguay can appeal if they wish but if they harm lfc in any way they should be called on it.

Yeah that's the point really... They can appeal but if they increase the ban it can only be done to his 9 game International ban... Otherwise they really are opening a can of worms over the whole International/Club thing...

Maybe they should have, but it's their job to protect the game not necessarily a particular player.

LFC, the PL, the FA and the PFA should all insist that he now confronts whatever issues he has and whatever drives him to do what he does. He's in the last chance saloon here, as a 4th event could finish him.

Stopping players biting is protecting the game mate

He can keep up his general fitness levels of course, in a gym by lifting weights and running etc.
What he cant do is train at football, no team mates with him, he cant train in team tactics etc, wont get a chance to meet and gel with any new signings you make in the summer.

agin it has been said the ban can't be increased.

Of course they're ****ing linked.

You bought a flawed player, he was a risk. He's reminded you of that risk on a number of occasions since, racking up ban after ban. He's now been dealt a massive sanction as he's shown yet gain that he's flawed. You can't moan about that now.

Ferguson got jailed for a head butt and when we signed him we did so knowing he was a hot head. He got a number of bans during his time with us, did we moan about whether it was fair or not? Did we ****

One incident is not such, regardless of your BBC after the fact reasoning, you are one of those who pretends to be all seeing after things happen. Doesn't pan out though unfortunately. No one knew including you, that he was a serial offender as that was the only case of it.

Defoe did it once already too, was he subject to the same concerns? was he ****. It was treated as one of those things, hell Mascerano was making a meal of it according to those commentating

Your after the fact reasoning is pretty lame Tobes.

Did you look up compulsion yet? You've switched tact after losing that one <laugh>

Edit: re Ferguson, was it all your fault for supporting him that he re offended? Was it ****

so if he appeals the ban still stands anyway and wont be suspended or increased no matter the outcome of the appeal?

Then why the f**k even give anyone to option to appeal <doh> What is to be gained from it?

The illusion of a fair process. Theoretically they could bring new evidence or arguments and the ban could be reduced.

I'm sure he can still run around and kick the ball with his little girl in the back garden.

She better not get in his way, though.

There should always be the option to appeal, it's fair and a safeguard against unfair decisions for whatever reason.

in this case though, no appeal should be made possibly. But it's a no lose situation for Uruguay

I'm to pissed off to talk about it, I just hope we can get rid of him for a good price and can get the right players in this Summer kick on and forget about him.

I

he is now suspended, left team hotel and is on ban... the appeal can simply reduce the length of the sanction still. the right to appeal is a basic fairness issue... murderers get right of appeal even in texas i hear.. due process.

i'd expect suarez and uraguay are more focused on copa next year than world cup or lfc.

888poker has ended its sponsorship with Suarez.

First time I've ever heard of them, now they're front page of the BBC, this is probably the situation they most hoped for <laugh>

I see what you mean, it standard procedure.
Not sure what kind of evidence could come to light at this stage that would change anything but I suppose, like you say, appeal rights are standard.
Just seems ******ed if it wont change anything.

What im looking forward to hearing is Uruguays reasoning for the appeal.
