People complaining about the fee for Snodgrass being at around £8m it seems. 2014, SNODGRASS at 26 (£8m) previous 2 seasons 40 games 7 goals and 33 games 7 goals. After two seasons at Norwich culminating in relegation. 2012, MATT JARVIS at 26 (£11m, also a club record fee for West Ham) previous 2 seasons 41 games 5 goals and 39 games 8 goals. After these two seasons Wolves a very similar team to Norwich were relegated and sold their best player. Snodgrass is a better player than Jarvis and is going to be cheaper also so it's not just us that have paid big for a winger who was bought from a relegated club.
So it's not deal done, just that Norwich have accepted 8m? Wouldn't want us go near that. Think he's worth about 5 to be honest. Still, if someone is willing to pay that then that's what he'll go for.
Depending on who you listen to, the fee varies. The Beeb just say "a fee in excess of £6M", the (local) Daily fail say it is £7M but could eventually rise to 8 providing certain add on clauses - and no one ever seems to know what they are - are met. Although it is an inflated price - as others have said the rise in TV £££££ means we are living in days on inflated prices - you were never in for him anyway.
I Like that a lot more! There will be add-ons but I don't mind those. Means we only pay if he/we succeed
We were the "HULL INTERESTED IN SNODGRASS, along with a number of Premier League clubs". I.e. You were the only ones looking at him, but the story needed more to it. Hoping we're after the younger, better Norwich winger.
Overpaid for sure but he improves the team. We will be going into the new season with Jelly, Long, and Snodgrass all who we did not have at the beginning of last season. Its looking good for us.
You'll likely have to pay whatever we've paid for Snodgrass (ie. too much), maybe more because he's younger and on a longer contract. Oh, and he's English. That doubles his price instantly.
I'd stretch to 8m. That wouldn't be too much for someone his quality and age. He's a real talent IMO.
The one that's already pledged his allegiance to Norwich? http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11065/9319702/transfer-news-nathan-redmond-intends-to-stay-at-norwich-despite-relegation
If demand governs the price, then I'd expect Redmond to cost a lot more than Snodgrass. Plenty of suitors out there for him.
With help from Ken Dodds tickling stick. £16m for Livermore and Snodgrass is cheap by PL spending. But it wont be £16m in one go. Whatever the actual fee is (and nobody on here knows for sure) it will be the final total at whatever point within the deals. Hull City being in the PL this time next season and it will be very good / cheap business. Hardly shi.te ffs. I dont like Snodgrass but he is a quality PL player and quality costs. No we have not. Get out of poundland ffs olm. We are now shopping @ Sainsburys. I think i pay far too much for my deisel but if i dont then my 4 x 4 does not go. You have to pay the going rate and we have done. £8m or whatever it is ?? by PL standards is nothing. Being in the PL in 12 months time and it will be wonga well spent. Spot on ^^^^^^ this. Well said sir. You would. Your not the sharpest tool in the box. Simply a tool. It was known last night by some he was coming for a medical today. I was actually but only for snooker. Talking of deals - it has all gone very quiet on Tom Ince now.
Why are we spending aroun £15million on two midfielders...surely other parts of our squad need strengthening? we need a decent replacement for Figgy...hes awful. Another striker too
Talking to yourself again Tickles? Don't get yourself down like that. Aye, I was one of those who knew.
We have bid 4 mill for Dawson. Also we only need a back up striker and there have been a few rumors linking us to a couple people.
