It's amazing how much momentum a rumour can get.

So we are not after Balotelli then. He's a talented guy but he would be a liability that's for sure.

I hope the Sanchez rumours have some truth in them. Think he would be a huge success in the EPL.

I fear after last nights game Suarez will be looking to get out of England, Barca would be able to offer money plus Sanchez. Hopefully we get in first give them the money for Sanchez and they do a straight cash deal for the biter.

Why would it affect his time in England? We already know he's a douchebag.

Might affect him ever going to Italy though.

You only have to think of the Higuain rumours last summer, there was never .any definitive proof that we were ever after him.
Does anyone remember the rumours about the Argentinian forward ( I don't remember the name) we were after several years ago ? The rumours started on a fake Boca Junior fans forum and we were meant to have bid £25/30 million for him.I remember going to work and having a copy of the sun thrust in my face by an excited fellow Arsenal fan.The sun was claiming a world exclusive over the supposed transfer. You should have seen the look on his face when I told him the story was a hoax.I suppose it just proves where the media get their rumours from <laugh>

What it does prove is that the media lies on A LOT OF THINGS, and its not just sports.

There was rumour on Twitter last night about Sanchez doing an interview on a Brazilian radio station saying he was interested in going to Liverpool

It's not just the media though it's often agents trying to create some interest or competition.

The Media hands down. The job of the Agent is to benefit their client, but the Media have the responsibility to tell the truth.

The problem being the media tell the truth as they see it.Take today's newspaper headlines as an example. The front pages of the Murdoch owned papers "Brookes is innocent" The front pages of other papers "Coulson is guilty"

But we also know how they twist a story to meet their agenda. This will always be a problem when the "free press" are owned by huge corporations. That's why its so important for us to read books and gain knowledge on various subjects. This way you have a better chance of picking up on all the bullshit that is being published.

I always remember at the time of the 1987/1992 general election the sun running a story that if Labour got into power they would the basic rate of income tax up to 50p.I remember talking to a fellah in work who told me he would be voting Tory because of the sun's story.I asked him if he seriously believed the story. His reply to me was "The sun is the best selling newspaper in Britain,it would never lie"
I swear to you that is a true story

It's truly scary meeting people that are that ignorant. But I guess a less informed, ignorant populous is easier to manipulate and control.

I see there's still countless new Balotelli stories despite Wenger coming out and saying we are not after him.

Wenger did say the Draxler stories were rubbish despite the fact we now know he was busy making bids for him...

With the world cup I havn't thought too much about transfers but I've got a hope in the back on my mind that there will be a big signing to coincide with the new kit launch

Well we know he's speaking to an agent whilst over there. Knowing our luck we'll re-sign Gervinho..

Does anyone really care who we sign as long as a couple are real first team quality and that they come in in time for some pre-season?

The anger that may appear at AW saying we've never been interested in players is going to be frustration down to fans looking at the situation being a repeat of near enough every other botched transfer window that AW has screwed up recently. And also, seriously, I swear AW spends most transfer windows saying he's not in for players. It seems to be his stock phrase. Ready made excuse for players that don't join...?

Anyway, no, there is no valid reason to be frustrated at not getting Balotelli if we were never in for him anyway. But AW needs to get someone world class or he can rightly expect anger. The longer he leaves it the more frustration he'll build up in fans. But I can't see it actually building up until at least August. He's got time yet...

But will he deliver a good transfer window? His track record is shocking so probably not... but I'm up for a pleasant surprise.

I fear that the Suarez incident may cause second thoughts among the Real and Barca hierarchy and he may opt to stay at Liverpool who now can offer CL football and maybe a decent pop at the league.
