Oh well if he does get banned he can always make a good living as Freddie Mercury impersonator.

Back again folks!! OK it was a bite!! So how to deal with it? Like the way Arsenal treated Tony Adams after his difficulties with alcohol and imprisonment. Suarez will have to face the "bullet" of a ban but then he needs to be subjected to serious counselling and education about what is acceptable conduct on a football field. After all this is a guy, who by the looks of it came from the rough barrios of Montivideo, and so may have missed out of certain elements during his school days.

PS: I think the way Tony Adams faced up to his responsibilities was magnificent, so Suarez needs to do the same!!

I'm not sure that this is exactly the same thing. I think it is possible to support Suarez in his getting help and dealing with whatever mental problem he has, but still think he should be kept off the field while that happens. Tony Adams wasn't really a danger to anyone on the pitch (more than normal), due to his drinking.

I think at this point you have to think about the other players who go to work each day. If you had to do to work and risk being bitten by one of your co-workers, you would be fairly unhappy and expect steps to be taken by your employers. I don't think it is reasonable to expect that the other players put up with this.

99.9% of players manage to play without biting people. This should not be a difficult thing to avoid doing, and it speaks to a lack of self control. What if this leads to more serious behaviour? I am sure if some player gets seriously hurt by Suarez, they will trot out any number of Psychologists who will be able to say that it was predictable. FIFA and whoever Suarez is playing for could be taken to the cleaners financially.

FIFA have to throw the book at him. I think they pretty much have to ban him for the rest of the world cup, so I doubt they will care what else they tack on.

it kinda does though dont it ....

my personal favorite.

"About time he got charged for assault as well, I think. 24 competitive matches sounds good, but only after he's served a sentence in a Brazilian, English or Spanish jail. "

I think Suarez has shown that in pressure situations he loses the plot and turns into a vicious little man. He needs therapy to cope with his aggression and channel it more productively. He has so much talent and he'll regret it if he keeps doing these stupid things.

It's the third time he has bitten an opponent. Next time the player needs to just punch him.

He should be given a ban longer than his previous two bans.

The problem being that in the past he has been banned by his national FA,this time it will be FIFA.If it is true FIFA can only ban him from internationals then Liverpool FC and it's supporters are not going to be bothered

Whilst they may not be able to ban him from non international football you can guarantee the fa will come at him with full force for anything else he does. But overall likely not a big worry for Liverpool fans.

Checked and checked again with FIFA. If Suarez faces a ban it will ONLY apply to int games - as reported max 24 games or 24 months

You'd have thought FIFA have the power to ban him from ALL FIFA activity. All professional leagues are, in some way, connected to FIFA so they should have this power.

he will wear new FIFA face muzzle, and 24 match ban from all football

I agree , but some people are talking about a YEAR ban !

Who ever had a year long ban for spitting ?

Of course he needs to be reprimanded , but i think we should try to get some perspective .

The thing is though that spitting, whilst pretty unsavory, isn't physically damaging. Whereas biting is an actual physical assault which can have some really nasty consequences. If you break the skin then there's the risk of all sorts of horrible infections etc.

Also, this is the THIRD time that he's done it. If it were the first offence then he'd be looking at a ban, the second time an even longer ban, but three times is inexcusable. He obviously need help, but that shouldn't negate the punishment he should receive which I think should be a year long ban from international football.

Especially if he's a zombie!!!
