    Why?

Good deal. Cost very little, decent squad player (gives us something different), born and bred scouser meaning he'll always give 110%, short contract on low wages.

Personally I think it's a great bit of business.

Anyway an Arsenal fan talking about strikers <whistle>

Strange seeing him welcomed home as a hero, we all know what kind of reception Rooney would have got here if he'd been sent home for biting...

Yes, and that reaction would be justified (that of Rooney I mean)

Even if we won the world cup Rooney would have come back to ****. Probably because he's a complete bellend.

But yeah strange reception for Suarez returning - maybe it's a cultural thing. Vampires and witches and demons and ****.

Depends what happens with Suarez I suppose. If you end up next season with Lambert instead of Suarez then it's going to be a huge step down. If being a scouser is what counts then I suppose it's alright with you lot and the rest of the league will be pleased with that arrangement too.

I don't know, it all depends on who wants to go to Liverpool. If it were me I'd want to hang on to Suarez, he is top quality and despite being a ****, you will be weakened if he leaves. Everybody thinks he's a **** anyway, so hanging onto him isn't really going to change any attitudes anyway.

Liverpool are going to have their work cut out to play in Europe and maintain a challenge.

It is one thing doing well when no one expects it, another thing entirely winning when you are supposed to win. I think they might suffer a bit of a hangover next season.

Baptism of fire for Brendan especially if he loses his best player. But I would be really impressed if he gets out of the group.

Is this dependent on your UEFA rankings? Still, for a manager with no European experience, it would be quite testing.

Liverpool is ranked 32 in Europe. This would mean they would face some big teams. We are ranked 9.

Yeah you gotta think Liverpool will be third seeds. They havent even been in the Europey for a couple seasons prior to this and not in the CL since 2010 is it? So they run a risk of getting Bayern, Real , Barca etc in their group.

Yep, they would be around the 3rd tier and would probably face a biggy or two in their group. This is a list of UEFA rankings including 32nd Liverpool.

    Arsenal are down to 9th?
There are only 8 groups so therefore can only be 8 top seeds!
Does this mean if the entire top 9 qualify for the comp Arsenal will be a second seed?

Oh just checked and Man United havent qualified, so Arsenal stay a top seed.
You can thank Moyes for that Gooners <ok> <laugh>

We're lucky Stretford FC are not in Europe or we'd be second seeds in our group that is providing we qualify of course

At least Moyes did something useful. But saying that, there are some tough second tier teams too. You have Inter, Borussia Dortmund, PSG, AC Milan....
