This is completely left-field but I think the next England will be a recent England international who may have had zilch experience of club management but has had plenty of experience at the top level both for clubs and country in England and abroad. Step forward Mr Beckham. Look at the possible alternatives who are English and in club management, and the choice is dismal!!

It won't be Beckham. He's just bought an MLS club. Why on earth would he want to be on a hiding to nothing as England manager? Not like he needs the cash. Not a chance, sorry. I actually think we'll go foreign again.

Poch?

;)

I just suggested Poch in the other thread. I think he would be fantastic.

Next England manager?

FFS, Roy was being heralded as an excellent manager building for the future mere days ago, let him continue.

Beckham would love to be england manager, think of all that tax he can offset.

He's another overrated ****. Only good for hairspray adverts.

And the masses of goals he scored and assisted.

I find it hard to get excited at the best of times with England, nothing like the love for Saints. To be honest with the players we have, may as well do a raffle! I'll give it a go for a quid, gotta be in it to win it!

Why do they have to be English? FFS!

Agree - too far up his own arse. That nonsense on telly last week when he went up the Amazon to find himself somewhere where he wouldn`t be recognised - taking a film crew with him.

On the international field England need a massive lift. I don't think Roy can do it. Someone like Beckham who was a pretty decent footballer and led by example, might just be the kind of player that younger players can relate to.
