He could be playing in Europe! They sit there on the bench at these big clubs sulking saying " they just want to play" now this is his chance!

I aren't fussed about Lescott at all, as stated earlier in this thread. I think he's over rated, so in my opinion, if we miss out and we're not committed to another obscene monthly salary for the next 2-3 years then that's great.

Agreed.

Lescott contemplating joining us is symbolic of our progress, but I’m not actually that bothered about him signing and if he did, I’d prefer a 1 year contract.

Like our manager?

Nope, hes 1 million times less of a c*nt than you OLM.

You don't like criticism, in fact you think the sun shines out of your behind and you also think everyone should bow down and listen to you all the time. Well I'm sorry there is other members on here, it's not606 not... notOLM.

Bullet dodged deffo.

We have Chester and Davies, arguably one of the best CB pairings last season. Think about it, a player like lescott comes in on 2/3 times the wage Davies and Chester are on and then you have to make two other players happy. Before you know it Hull are shedding out **** loads on wages.

All we need is adequate cover in case chester or davies picks up an injury.

I don't see the point in spending 50-70k a week on a player that plays in a position which we are at our strongest. I grant you we are rather weak when it comes to wing backs and this is the area we should be looking at with up most priority as well as a left sided midfielder and another influential central midfielder (if we don't get livermore). For me 5 players will do it, stand in CB, CM, LB, CAM or attacking left/right sided midfielder and another striker.

OLM if he was so good why is the clubs hes been linked with newly promoted and mid table at best? Think about it, he's not really worth the wage he commands and we have better options. Plus he's slow as fook.

Most of you on here are looking at it as "he's an ex man city player worth 24m in the past" and not looking at the bigger picture for the club on the field and off it (financially).

Completely agree. Lescott is well past his best, overpaid, and slow as hell. We are well situated at CH although I'd like to add Ashley Williams at a reasonable price but it looks as if he'll stay at Swansea. Thanks WBA...we dodged an expensive bullet there.

<laugh> You're a ******.

Apologies to any ******s offended by that remark.

They didnt last year knowing what we were going to play. Any reason you think they will next season?

The only instinct I have is gut feeling purely because we did so well at it first season back in the premier league. I fear that last season this tactic was our plan A,B and C. In some games you could see that when the teams managed to contain us exploit the formation it went horribly wrong.

I just think Steve Bruce will have his wits about him next season and will mix it up a bit just in case.
