That's because they're brilliant and warrant that.

Rooney.
If hes not playing as a striker, which he is by far the best england have got then dont play him.
I think the issue last night was sterling defensively. Going forward he was good but he offered no protection to gerrard and henderson. Rooney as a number 10 does offer protection as he will drop back into midfield and help out.
Sterling would have been better outwide, where his Pace causes many more problems as last night showed. When rooney came central he was playing quick short passes and pinging balls all over. The difference between him out left was obvious. I would still play him up top.
Rooney was one of our best players last night. He was nothing more than ok with the added bit of brilliance for the cross but after sterling the rest were a mix of poor to decent.

Instead of dropping Rooney, he should be rested instead for next game.
Well when Rooney did play centrally, he did 2 things.
1) Missed an easy shot from 10 yards, hitting it wide
2) Took the ball off Barkley and then hit the ball over the crossbar.
Lets play sturridge out left, gerrard in goal, sterling and centerback and baines in the hole.
See how they do.
Rooney gets moved about as hes the best player in the squad easily. Its not even close tbh. His versatility works against him. He plays wide in a position he doesn't like yet produces that cross and could have scored. Who else played out of position and had any impact? Which player could? None.
I wanna see a 532 formation. Rooney and sturridge with sterling behind. Johnson and baines as wing backs and gerrard/jones as the 3rd cb who bridges the defense and midfield.
Reckon that will give rooney his best chance to shine as its his role, playing as pair.
yeah but how many chances did other players miss?
Agreed Rooney missed that easy shot, but if he plays upfront, he would get more of them chances and he would of scored.
He's not United 3rd top scorer for no reason is he? if he doesn't know how to score
That's true. if we're going to see the best out of good players, its always when they play at their position.

Also even the best manager in the PL era, played Rooney out wide plenty of times
Rooney easily had the best chance of the game, and if hes United top 3rd scorer, then he should of scored that.
Not really, Suarez played wide of Sturridge a few times for Liverpool and he still scored many.
As a wide forward or a left winger? Big difference in the roles.
Rooney was tasked with tracking the runner. The f**k? Seriously? Your best striker has to track a runner and waste all his best talents? f**k sake. Only in england eh?
