Become one of the Top 31 footballing brands in the world (fact). Where do Swansea stand on the world stage?
TBH, even the most pessimistic of us would say that we're improving as a club. Top stadium, top facilities, +40k average, 8 years PL TV money, Cup Final and now a modern manager instead of the 'Brit gaffers'. We have internationals on the bench and a player in the World Cup. We've come a fair way
I had an argument with a steward at Villa this year. As we were leaving the ground he sarcastically said, "What's it like for Sunderland to see a decent crowd?" That's how ****ing deluded some of these people are ......... +40k average is phenomenal after 40 years without a trophy.
Stoke at home? Would that be the only match where these little clubs with little grounds and little fans had a chance to do us on attendance?
Williams has gone up a million percent in my estimations - he is doing Chopras ex, from Durham apparently. Apologies if said

Re: Ashley Williams 4 mil cyprussyd Today at 8:21 am Captain Ashley Williams set to sign contract to make him the highest paid player in Swansea City's history Jun 09, 2014 08:00 By Chris Wathan Ashley Williams is set to delight Swans fans by penning a new deal to make him the highest earner at the Liberty Stadium David Davies/PA Wire Enlarge this image Click to see fullsize Swansea City could have to make Ashley Williams the highest-paid player in the club’s history if they want to seal a new contract for their captain. But, as a string of clubs eye-up the centre-back with Sunderland making him their No.1 summer target, it has been made clear the Swans star won’t be on his way out of South Wales even if a deal can’t be reached. Talks have begun over a new contract for the 29-year-old skipper who only has one year left on his existing Liberty Stadium terms. And it is thought the Wales star’s camp want the defender’s key influence at the club reflected with a pay-hike that would make him the top earner in Monk’s squad. Swansea, though, are unlikely to be willing to match the kind of wages that Premier League rivals could offer elsewhere with Sunderland and Queens Park Rangers both showing serious interest in the experienced ace. But any new terms would still make him the top-earner and it is thought there is a willingness and optimism on both sides that a compromise can be reached which would see Williams sign a new deal that could stretch to at least three more years. One of the team’s most consistent performers over several seasons, Williams was made the squad’s highest earner by former boss Brendan Rodgers and top-up deals have maintained his status towards the upper-end of the salary scale along with Michu and Wilfried Bony, both believed to be on wages around the £40,000-per-week mark. Swansea are thought to be relaxed over the negotiations and the subject of Williams’ future, although will be aware they will need to turn to his leadership as they look to push on under rookie boss Monk. Manager Monk recently spoke of his quiet confidence that his old defensive partner will commit his future to the club he first signed for six years ago, revealing: “I have spoken to Ash and he wants to be here. He knows my feelings about him too, so I am optimistic that we will get something sorted.” Williams, though, will know could be the last major contract of his career and it is believed the interest from QPR and Sunderland is serious, although it is not clear if the Black Cats have in fact tabled a £4m bid for his services as claimed over the weekend. Regardless, Swansea are ready to reject any offers for Williams rather than cash-in cheaply – even if it runs the risk of losing him on a free next season – given the money it would then cost to replace him in the short-term. And while there appears a deal is there to be done, both parties could be prepared to re-evaluate the situation in a year’s time rather than be backed into a corner over a contract this summer. Monk is eager to not only add to his numbers over the coming weeks but also ship out players in his bid to reshape and re-energise his squad and will be keen for senior figure Williams to remain part of
"If we'd talked about the contract in January we wouldn't be in this position," said Williams' representative Jamie Moralee David Davies/PA Wire Ashley Williams Swansea City are claimed to have told Sunderland Ashley Williams is not for sale as his agent confirmed the Wales star wants to stay in South Wales. WalesOnline revealed last week the Swans had no plans to cash-in on captain Williams amid interest from Sunderland despite him entering the final year of his contract - and that the player was happy to sign a new deal if the terms were right. Now reports in the North East have stated the Swans have thrown out a £4m bid for the 29-year-old skipper. WalesOnline also revealed Williams was looking for a bumper new deal and while talks were ongoing that a compromise could be on the cards that would still make him the side's highest player. And his agent has told the South Wales Evening Post that there is calm over discussions with a deal there to be done. “We'll see what happens. A bid's come in from Sunderland, but I've got no control over who bids for my players and neither has the player," said representative Jamie Moralee. "At the moment, Ash is in Sardinia, I'm in Brazil and Huw Jenkins is somewhere else. "It's up to Swansea to make him an offer because he doesn't want to leave. "Just because a club has put a bid in, that's not to say Ash wants to leave — that's far from the truth. "There's been a lot of interest in Ash and that was always going to be the case, particularly as he only has one year left on his contract. "How we've arrived at this situation, I don't know. If we'd talked about the contract in January we wouldn't be in this position. "When players go into their last year it's dangerous. This is business, it's not personal. Hopefully we can get the situation put right for all parties."
Yeah but in this case, turning down a new contract, signing for Sunderland and moving to County Durham could shut the bitch up too.
