We have been linked with Arsenal youngster Chuks Aneke (who has been on loan at Crewe and scored against Posh) and Bristol Rovers Defender
Michael Smith, but with other clubs (includiing Championship ones) in the race I doubt we will succeed in either case, assuming they are not just rumours.

I would prefer to wait to hear about incoming players until after they have actually signed.

You've got Jonny Taylor from us as we return the favour for NKP. Works hard, scores goals and really, really fast. Doesn't use his pace as well as he might, can't cross and doesn't take his man on enough, but he'll be 22 at the start of the season so has room to improve. Good lad who goes with our best wishes - 15 important goals for us in the last 2 years at L1 level (bearing in mind we were ****e and can't score) and I think he'd make a better striker than winger. Will have been a fee, still under contract, and I'd hope it was at least £200k plus add-ons, although I'm not necessarily expecting it to be so. Scored the first against you in the game at the end of the season.

Thanks for that Lenny - Looks like we have another good young player to polish and improve before he moves upward, hopefully helping us get back to the Championship in the process.

In NKP you have a good player for Lower League football. He should be one of the best defenders at L2 level and was comfortable in L1

Mark Little has left Posh after rejecting a new contract offer.

Danny Swanson has yet to announce acceptance or rejection of his new contract offer.

Appears we have our first signing of the summer

"Posh boss Darren Ferguson believes new signing Jon Taylor has the attributes required to be a success at London Road.

Peterborough United manager Darren Ferguson believes new signing Jon Taylor brings 'something different' to the group ahead of the new Sky Bet League One campaign.

Taylor, who penned a three-year deal at London Road after moving from Shrewsbury Town, is predominantly a winger, but can operate in forward areas. He was the Shrews top scorer last term with nine goals.

'Jon is a winger and is extremely quick. He did well in a team that were ultimately relegated from League One last season and was their top scorer from a wide area.

'He is a really likeable lad. I met him and he really impressed me with the reasons behind why he wants to sign for Peterborough United and that is extremely important.

'He is a good age, he is someone that we can develop and improve and is exactly the type of player that we look for. He brings something a bit different and his pace is really going to be an asset and that will be important next season. I am very pleased to have him on board,' Ferguson said. Darren Ferguson has signed a new 3 year contract as Manager.

His long-time assistant, Kevin Russell, has left the club by 'mutual consent', to be replaced
by Gavin Strachan, who is promoted from his role as Under18 coach to that of 1st team coach.

Re Gavin Strachan - pleased, he has done excellent work with the younger players.

In the past it has always been Fergie and Rooster as a partnership, now we will get to see how much was Fergie,
especially as he has said he wants to spend more time coaching the players.

All the offices and facilities for the coaching staff are moving to the Nene Park Academy (formerly Orton Longueville School) site
into some, currently unused, buildings that are undergoing renovation and upgrading to be ready in time for the start of pre-season
training. This will save about 1 hour per day in travelling time etc, which had been lost in the past with staff shuttling between
the training ground and Main Stadium.

All players under 18 will also be educated at the Academy as well as working alongside the first team squad.

A very good move it would appear to me - though Fergie's coaching ability without his right-hand man is a 'wait and see' for me.

Jon Taylor did say that working with Fergie and our style of play were major factors in him choosing to come to Posh rather than
that get paid more at a Championship club.

Interesting times lay ahead I think, are we in for a repeat of 2007-09 I wonder?

Interesting comments from former Posh captain, Tommy Rowe:

“The management is good enough and the players are good enough. In fact the experience gained by some of the younger players last season will only do them good.

It will still be a young squad next season and trust me there are players at that club who could be world beaters if they continue to improve."

    Gabby Zakuani re-joins Posh.

With Bostwick, Zakuani, Baldwin and Santos that is a pretty strong Centre-Back line-up for League 1

Posh sign Erhun Oztumer (English born of Turkish origin).

Reading his biography he should be playing in the Premiership or at Barcelona if he is really that good!

I'm not fond of Turkish Delight but that could change during the upcoming season....
