A possible replacement for back-up keeper Joe Day (who is on the transfer list as he is in the last year of his contract): http://www.peterborough.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=363478
It is reported by BBC Wiltshire that Swindon Town have rejected a £200,000 bid from Posh for their right Back Nathan Thompson, will we go back with an improved offer?
Posh sign Spurs 'Gareth Bale lookalike', winger Kenny McEvoy on a season long loan. A winger with electrifying pace who can play in other positions and highly rated by Spurs fans.
The Posh finally get their man -After protracted negotiations Posh have finally signed Right Back Michael Smith from recently relegated Bristol Rovers
Nicky Ajose is reported to be heading up the M1 for a medical at Leeds United after the clubs agreed a fee (This would explain his absence from the official team photo yesterday)
Darragh MacAnthony confirms that Nicky Ajose has moved to Leeds on a permanent deal - Hopefully Barnett will be the next to go
Luke James of Hartlepool has handed in a transfer request - Fergie stated after the MKDons game that he was chasing 4 new players, is this one of them I wonder?
Posh have signed 22 year old Centre Back Christian Burgess from Middlesbrough on a 1 month loan deal. He started his career with Arsenal before moving north and spent last season on loan at Hartlepool, playing alongside Jack Baldwin (This will become a permanent deal after the loan period.) Bobby Olejnik has moved to Scunny on a 1 month loan deal
It would seem the Posh bid for Luke James is now 'dead in the water' according to Fergie as Hartlepool have rejected our bid and Posh will not be increasing the amount offered.
Very impressive performance from Christian Burgess, considering he had only met his team mates 3 hours before being thrown into a makeshift defence after we lost Ntlhe and Santos to injury
Ntlhe 'may be ready' for Saturday but Santos, Baldwin and Zak out for longer. I would expect Burgess and Brisley to be paired as the CB's as they both put in a good performance, whilst I hope Kgosi is fit enough to play as we lost most of our attacking impetus when he went off.
Posh have made a bid for former Cobblers striker Billy McKay, who currently plays for SPL table-toppers Inverness CT, after the attempt to sign Luke James from Hartlepool appears to have hit the buffers.
Luke James not in the Hartlepool squad in their game today - I wonder if this will be of any significance for Posh, or is it just a co-incidence?
Clearly Luke James is not happy, but behaving the way he is doing, if I were making the decision at Posh I would not sign him, we had enough problems last season with disruptive players. http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/football/hartlepool/read_article/11430217._/
Bobby doing well at Scunny............. http://www.sc**thorpetelegraph.co.u...keeper-Bobby/story-22813122-detail/story.html (You will need to Copy & Paste the link then replace the asterisks with the correct letters to get it to work, clearly the forum filters do not like Scunny)
Peterborough United have completed the signing of highly-rated Gateshead attacker Marcus Maddison. Peterborough United have strengthened their squad ahead of the closure of the transfer window by completing the signing of highly-rated Gateshead star Marcus Maddison. The former Newcastle United youngster joins Posh for an undisclosed fee on a four-year contract. Manager Darren Ferguson is delighted with the arrival of the attacking player. 'He is a really good player and I really like him. He is a good age, 20-years-old, fits the bill in terms of what we are after. He has been to Newcastle, gone to Gateshead and done very well. He is a player that has had a go at the big time, didn't quite work out as he had hoped but he has gone into the non-league and is on his way back up again. 'He has come to our attention, we have had him watched and done our homework and is a very talented boy. He can play on the right, up front, on the left or in the number 10 role. He has two decent feet, but his left-foot is definitely better. 'He has good balance, good skill, pace and we feel this could be a really good signing for us. The one thing we like about him when we watched him was the positions that he takes up. He understands the game. He plays in between people, he knows how to find space and he can score goals. 'It is important that he understands how we play. We have different formations and he will fit in well. I am pleased to have him on board and looking forward to working with him,' Ferguson said.
