Yes pretty sure. Think it might have been the journalist who spoke on TalkSport earlier in actual fact.
I want Koeman and I want him now I have fretted long enough and want to move on to worry about something else.
We don't want him until after the WC squad have gone into their camp in Brazil so our boys don't get the opportunity to push for a move until they get knocked out and return home. Shame but that won't give us much time as I don't expect them to get out the group but will give Ronald a fortnight to plan
They will probably tell Ron that there is some nutter who keeps phoning claiming to be Adam Lallana...just slam the phone down, Ron.
We do need a gaffer sorting quick, but it feels a little calmer now. Almost like clubs have listened to our stance. No business until the new man is in his seat. (I'm not as confident as you about England getting out the group stage, I think we are in for a bit of a hard time )
It's not so much that I am certain we will get out of the group stage, as that that should be about the level we are. People must be careful not to set their expectations too high as I thing this team is a work in progress. However, getting out of the group stage should be the minimum for England and the first game after that may not trun out that bad for us. All the recent stuff has made me less interested in this WC...I was looking forward to enjoying watching Saints players get a chance without the suffering of actually believing we could win the thing. Now although all the fuss has died a bit about our players and Rickie has been sold, the joy has gone. I am going to miss a couple of games and I'm not actually bothered.
I'm going put together a sweep stake.....just so I can peak my interest in the tournament. This is the most uninspiring England team for quite some time. Strange (or not) that two months ago I felt different!
Really? Compared to the last two World Cups and the Euros inbetween, I'd say Roy's squad selection is massively refreshing. And there's still three Saints players in there as far as I'm concerned, plus ex-Saint Oxtail-Chamberpot if he recovers in time to figure. Of course there's always the chance we'll melt in the tropical heat and lose every game in our group, but what I see is a young side and a manager prepared to take risks. When was the last time you could say that about England?
100% agree with this - this fairly young squad is far more inspiring, even if they do get knocked about a bit in the tournament !
Agree on the England squad as don't think there's much else around. Based on the other night there must be alternatives to Smalling and Jones though! Just scraping out of the group would be my bet! On the manager front Koeman is definitely my choice but why does it take so long? Other teams seem to identify who is wanted and it happens!
As it's the close-season there's no rush really. As some have speculated, we may be delaying the appointment in order to relieve the pressure from clubs interested in buying our players.
MUNDO DEPORTIVO: http://www.mundodeportivo.com/20140...n-entrenador-del-southampton_54409684692.html Article says there could be an agreement in the next few hours, and they believe he is very close to becoming the new Southampton manager.
Strategically placing 11 pumpkins with scary faces carved into them onto the field would be more inspiring and imposing than the 2010 WC squad to be honest. In an ideal world the shortlist would consist of Koeman, Yakin and Rangnick which would mean i could throw my feet up and continue to drink myself into a stupor for an undisclosed amount of time knowing the club will be capable hands no matter what.
