I keep reading about our interest in various players, but has there been a list of those who are leaving? I was a bit out of touch when on holiday, but didn't see anything about a released list.

Jeff Hendrick - http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/11253631.Watford_targeting_Derby_midfielder/

Young midfielder from Derby - been very good for them and highly rated (Prem bound say the Derby fans)

We're interested but doesn't seem like the most realistic signing...he'd command a million plus fee.

Reading some of the views of Derby fans on Twitter reminds me of how complacent and arrogant Watford fans were last summer. Losing the play off final doesn't guarantee a good season. On the subject of Hendrick, don't think we'll get him.

So out go

Manuel Almunia-bit of a loss but we move on.
Marco Cassetti - shame but a good attitude with the fans covered his age.
Ross Jenkins - hope he can find another club.
Nyron Nosworthy,
Fitz Hall - both had fitness issues, so not worth the wages despite being good players when fit.
Lucas Neill - why was he bought in?
Albert Riera - off to somewhere better?

A bit of a necessary clear out really!!

"The club also wishes to clarify the situation regarding players who are leaving clubs and listed as a ‘free agent’ on the Football League retained list. Players are still free to re-sign with their previous clubs should they accept an offer."

I wonder why they saw fit to include this at the end of the article. Have they been made offers that they could yet accept?

I am genuinely sad to see Manuel leave. He became a friend and was a good servant to the club also. But the club chose not to offer him a new deal so I guess they didnt want him.

I guess so, supply and demand, if the get no other offers maybe they'll consider reduced terms with Watford...maybe..

Also what about, Park, Daikite, Merkel, Fabbrini, Tozer, Iriney and Acuna??!! (sorry for spellings of some) Still a lot to be resolved...

Any loanees don't have to be mentioned, as their contract is with their parent club. Any that are ours, aren't being released.

I'm doubtful as to whether RJ will get a club, given that he wasn't even out on loan last year (I'm assuming we tried to get him loaned out).

If Ross doesn't get a club it will be a shame as I think he has something to offer.

Silly season has started - a few odd rumours to be found. Like:

Belkalem to Derby in a swap deal for Hendrick;
McGugan to Derby in a swap deal for Hendrick;
McGugan and Abdi to Derby in a 'double swoop';
Battocchio off to Italy...

The defender Nicola Belmonte, born in 1987, is about to leave on a free transfer from Siena to English side watford fc via sister club Udinese .

According to recent reports , in fact, the player will release on June 30 and would find an agreement with the club shaft on the basis of a two-year bonuses and options.

The player had a great season in Serie B, but may now move abroad for different experience .

Nicola Belmonte is a defender who can play both the center and on the wing and in his career he played for Melfi in Bari and, finally, in Siena.
He played under current watfordfc boss Giuseppe sannino in season 2012-13 at Sienna

Nicola? A new signing for Watford Ladies then? <whistle>

And who, or what, is the 'club shaft'? An intriguingly named position....

Deeney linked on Sky to a number of Premier league and Championship clubs.

IF the Pozzos have sense they wouldn't sell Troy to a rival club and I suspect the player himself would want to step up a level.

Yes I think so.... I do feel though that if he goes up.... he will most likely be a reserve striker with a small club... If our other recent transfers out are replicated with him...

( sorry for being wordy I am in the midst of a book edit!)
