Should Scotland be an Independent Country?

  • Yes

  • No

Results are only viewable after voting.
I don't think the Tories had ****ed anyone apart from the lazy ****s who were living on the nations credit line courtesy of Labour, which was/is costing the UK billions per year in interest alone.

The Con-Lib's have took millions o f lay pay workers out of the taxband by increasing the the taxfree allowance, and they've gave me a £2k NI rebate as with all employers so thanks, Cam.

Who are getting ****ed by the Tory led government and what is the alternative?

We're up to our knees in fe... sorry debt, how do we go about sorting that?

I was meaning what would happen in the event of a No vote. Do you really think an ever increasingly right-wing Tory Government trying to fight off a surge in UKip support is going to give a **** about Scotland if we vote No?

You don't think the Tories **** anyone? They ****ed the poorest and most vulnerable in the country by demonising them left, right and centre (excuse the pun) with the help of their friends in the Tory press (and the BBC and Channel4).

The bankers and the politicians caused the economic crisis - not Moira fae Glasgow.

It depends what is promised for after the referendum. I think we both agree that there will be some sort of golden carrot being dangled in front of the Jocks before the vote.

Tell me how the Tories demonised the poor and vulnerable?

Poor regulation caused the crisis, then cronyism, both will still be prevalent if Scotland votes yes or no, and voting Yes now won't change what happened in the past so it's a pointless inclusion into a debate where 90% of things being discussed are all metaphorical arguments.

Have you not witnessed the class war that's being going on the past couple of years? The Tories and and the press would have us believe that anyone who has the misfortune to find themselves out of work or, even worse, out of work and with a disability, were the reason for the economic crisis that befell this country.

Where's the persecution and, more importantly, prosecutions of the people who caused the crisis? Nowhere. While they're back earning even bigger banking bonuses and giving themselves wage rises, people who through no fault of their own find their benefits getting cut because they have the audacity to have more than one bedroom.

A never ending drip, drip of negative stories about the poor in the press and on the mainstream channels (BBC and C4 in particular) allied with a Government blaming them for everything that's wrong with this country (along with immigrants of course) and the Tories and their friends in London carry on as before getting richer and richer.

But not to worry. Some poor person who was either born disabled or developed a disability and had the 'misfortune' to live in a flat with more than one bedroom can endure a cut in his/her benefits so you can enjoy a wee tax break.

That's the Tories in a nutshell <ok>

Enjoy it until the next recession comes along which it always does with the boom-and-bust Tories in charge.

I don't buy a class war. I think it's at worst ambivalence to the plight of the state dependent poor as they go about a dogmatic dismantling of an unaffordable state (which Labour had doubled the size of in the last 15 years).

Nah. Endless reports by the press about the scourge of the underclass allayed with programme after programme on telly about people on benefits = class war.

The tabloid press have always been in the gutter though.

They have a visitor attraction for a boat than sank tragically killing hundreds of people and a weird rock formation that thick ****s swear is man made.

Other than that it's the same but with even worse accents.

You've never been to Strathy park then!

That's just paranoid bullshit. No **** reads the papers any more, I watch a lot of news and political shows, never once have I heard anybody blame the homeless, the out of work or the disabled for the financial crisis.

Stop the pishy cliches and start talking facts. I agree with the Bankers but that happened 6 years ago on Labour's watch, and apart from a few notable exceptions, most got away Scot-free. Again, this was on Labour's watch.

Boom and bust is called an economic cycle, it's happened forever and will happen forever. That's not Tory policy, it's a fact of life.

No, boom and bust is what happens when you put short-term political gain ahead of the long-term financial security of the country. The Tories basically thrive on it.

If you don't think there's been an orchestrated campaign by the Tories and the press to demonise the poor in this country then you're extremely naive.

Boom and bust has happened for Centuries, it's not a new thing, it's an economic cycle which affects every industry ever. The Tories didn't invent it and the last recession happened on Labour's watch.

If you believe the second parapgraph then God help thee.

He doesn't believe in God so won't be expecting any help from him - but he's completely spot on <ok>

The press and the Tories/Liberals have orchestrated a campaign against the poor...?

By increasing the tax threshold for millions of the poorest workers and removing them from tax altogether?

How **** for them.

Tell me what is wrong with what IDS says, then tell me how by voting Independence, how this Jock politician will not just head up the road and say the same thing which is obviously a problem, albeit not something that worries me too much.

It's not just about what he said, for one he doesn't back up his opinion with any figures it's just an attack on poor foreigners. Maybe if he used some actual proof then you could take it as an actual problem rather than an easy attack on a minority group.

The entire tone of the article makes out that all Romanians are lazy scum stealing from hard working Brits.

If you can't see that then you're being deliberately obtuse or you are stupid. And I know you're not stupid.

It's all part of the Neo-Liberal global conspiracy to restore class power...

^^ I've actually read that line a few times - as if everyone upwardly mobile meets in a masonic hall to discuss how they are going to **** over the poor this week.

Apart from that, poor people themselves like to demonise even poorer people - who do you think buys the Sun, the Daily Mail, or watches Jeremy Kyle and Benefits Street? People who find low brow ****e reality TV entertaining and want to feel better about themselves by gawking at the only class seemingly worse off than them.

And who do you think owns the newspaper/media group or commissions the TV shows? It's not poor ****s, that's for ****ing sure. <doh>
