Perhaps Arsenal could tell Chelsea that they will only stand aside to let them sign Cesc Fabregas if Chelsea sell them Lukaku?
I can imagine those games going on so you would have to think we're in a position of strength all ways. But, if we're to pass on someone of Cesc's talent we need to benefit with someone better than Lukaku. It's all academic anyway, I don't believe Cesc goes anywhere except us (in England), he could concievably go to PSG or Bayern but I do believe it's us on no-one in England....
Not a transfer rumour but apparently Arsenal have agreed a 3 year training kit sponsorship deal with American Airlines worth £18 million p.a.
Not really like for like. Cesc is one of the best midfielders in the world and Lukaku is good but not in the same level as Cesc at the moment. I'd like to see Lukaku come to Arsenal and i'm sure he has the talent to get better and make us a better team. But Cesc is an all-round talent that contributes in every way, and is at the peak of his powers.
Rumors are that Damian Martinez might be promoted to 2nd choice. Daw a couple of his games in his last loan spell. He was decent (reminded me a bit of Chesney at Brentford but with less promise). He has an Argentinian NO Cap and is rated highly. I'd prefer if he was 3rd choice and we bought and older more experienced GKS as 2nd choice though.
Dagenham and Redbridge have confirmed that they will NOT be signing Cesc Fabregas. http://metro.co.uk/2014/06/03/dagen...-out-of-cesc-fabregas-transfer-chase-4748526/
Can't find the story, but would doubt it, Arsenal are mainly sponsored by Fly Emirates, so don't think it'd make sense to be promoting another airline.
Santi Cazorla urges Cesc Fabregas to ignore Chelsea interest and rejoin Arsenal ‘I have read that Cesc could go to Chelsea but I prefer that he comes to Arsenal,’ he said in a press conference ahead of Saturday’s friendly with El Salvador. ‘He has given a lot to the club and he knows it well. ‘I hope that he is happy, he chooses his club well and is comfortable there. ‘I don’t see any differences between his performances in the Premiership and with Barca. His record is spectacular at Barcelona and he has demonstrated that he has adapted but they haven’t given him the same value as in England.’ Good to see an Arsenal player showing interest in having their own come back. I'd like to see a few others comment on it too, but I fear a couple would be wary of Cesc coming back...
My thoughts exactly 87. Highly unlikely that Arsenal would sign with American Airlines due to their Emirates connection. I couldn't find any sources for the story either.
There's no reason why we shouldn't be actively pushing for a big training kit sponsor. You'd imagine Emirates had some sort of exclusivity regarding airlines but if they didn't include that in their deal then b*llocks to 'em.
Well, regarding rival airlines I'd not be surprised if they had something written in their contract. Saying that though it's not outside the realms of possibility. Currently got 3 different airlines sponsoring the channel I work on albeit not to the same extent.
If it helps us with buying some top players then its all good. Otherwise I couldn't careless if we make more profits!
The rumour has started appearing on Twitter again but someone has said it must be false as the Emirates deal apparently covers both playing and training kit
@barcastuff: Pique (to Del Bosque, caught on mic before press conference today): "Cesc told me the deal is done, 33 millions." [via tve]” Hmmmmm...... A lot of sources reporting this.
