In some areas of the world honour killing is still practised and this is utterly abhorrent. It is practised in a few very remote areas of the world and justified by the selective attachment to religious script. The Klu Klux Klan do the same with one line extracted from Genesis ch 9 ...somewhere, where Noah cursed and exhiled Canaan, (which wasn't particularly forgiving of him) apparently, he had brown or non-while skin.

I had an argument ages ago on the Newcastle board with a total f**king mong about his opinion that anybody who is devout religious cannot be considered plausibly intelligent, due to the fact that they won't acknowledge evolution as a fact so they were all narrow minded. Obviously he ended up disappearing with his stupid tail between his legs.

My point is I will defend anybodies right to believe what they want and live with freedom and peace, that is a right of every human and has nothing to do with religion. The moment religion appears to impinge on my life though, I won't tolerate it in any shape, way or form. I do not actively seek to make those who believe, stop believing so I expect the exact same in return from them, yet hundreds of times per day religion seems to creep it's way into my life in one way or another, often having an impact on my own freedom to do or say as I please.

If I want to call a taxi driver a f**king disgusting w**ker because his taxi stinks, I am not allowed because with 95% of taxi drivers in Manchester it would be considered racially or religiously motivated. There's one example.

I'm sick of it and I won't be gagged because people want to 'live in peace and harmony', that's bull****.

Sounds like you're bashing religion there ..... take care, there are people on this board who believe you shouldn't do that <ok>

When you say "Honour killing is still practised practised in a few very remote areas of the world," do you realise that one of those 'remote areas' is the United Kingdom where people have been jailed for exactly that offence <doh>

    Here's just one example http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/ukn...being-found-guilty-of-her-honour-killing.html

You've tried to show that it's a problem that only exists in isolated areas around the globe.

You've totally and utterly failed ........... in fact you couldn't have failed more completely.

Mostly media hype mate so far.

Plenty of army road blocks throughout the country, don't mind them, never stop us.

All will be back o normal soon enough, unless they kick off in Bangkok again....which no doubt they will.

Do you have to drive to Vietnam to renew your visa, or am I thinking of somewhere else?

Just wondering, a very good friend of mine uses to have to drive to the border every now and again.

The poor bloke is now is a sanitorium in Birmingham, total nervous breakdown.

I have to wait until I'm on top form before I visit him, it's bloody heartbreaking.

By far mate. The yanks dropped more bombs on that country, than any other war. The number were horendous, but largely forgotten as all the focus was on Vietnam. Yet they got a tiny % of bombs compared to Laos..

The Yanks committed many atrocities in that war.
No problem with the average Yank but their government's foreign policies over the last 50 year has been ****ing shocking.
I've worked with Yank soldiers in the past & found them the most ill disciplined I've ever come across.
    Best equipped like.
