No but didn't he recently say if he came back to the prem he would only play for us? Think it may have been on his twitter.
He is meant to have said that but that was a while ago. When Man Utd were courting him last summer I don't remember a quote from Fanregas saying "I would never join Man Utd because the only PL team I'd ever play for is Arsenal"
Like **** they did. They failed to get rooney and settled for a dud striker. They then bought a midfielder tgey didnt really need and all along they failed to score goals.
Most people would say as it stands our future midfield will be Ramsey,Wilshere & Ozil so which of those would you drop ?
I don't know who would say that will be our future midfield. Not anytime in the near future anyway. Maybe at some point when wilshere has matured more as a player but not over the next couple of seasons at least. I'd play Ramsey and fabregas in cm with ozil sitting in front of them.
Why? You have this strange view that we have no room in our squad and have to sell if we bring someone new in.
This . I think our midfield has room to improve and bringing Cesc would do that. Wenger was disappointed with our goals return so bringing in a player like Cesc would help in this a great deal. When Cesc was playing in the 09-10 season we got 83 goals (RVP hardly featured) in the Premiership and 72 goals (RVP heavily featured) in the 10-11 season. This was when Cesc was operating in a less talented midfield. Our current season we got 68 goals.
I would say that most Arsenal fans would say as it stands Ozil,Ramsey & Wilshere will be our future midfield even Wenger says he sees Wilshere eventually being a holding midfielder.
In my reply I've said maybe at some point when wilshere has matured more as a player he could play alongside Ramsey but in the near future that's not the case. Everyone has been calling for another dm to be signed so people obviously think we can improve our midfield.
Of course, but when do we never get injuries? We still had Ozil for most of the season, Cazorla for all of it and had a few others playing. Also Cesc wasn't exactly blessed with great strikers to play with, other than when he had RVP in the 10-11 season. The 09-11 season was a Cesc virtuoso.
They scored 4 more goals than Man Utd, and only Chelsea, Liverpool and Man City scored more goals. So 'failed to score goals' seems a tad inaccurate.
It would be much easier to swallow if he signed for Bayern if he's not coming to us. I can't stand the thought of him playing for Utd or City, also as already mentioned his presence would significantly strengthen them and offer a threat to us in the process.
There's no point talking about "who to drop" when Arsenal need a SQUAD to challenge for the league. On small pitches away from home play Flamini, Ramsey, Fabregas - more physical but creative. At home against teams that sit back play Ramsey, Fabregas, Ozil - creative. Away at the big boys play Arteta, Ramsey, Ozil - Flamini struggles on big pitches, but this is defensively more solid. At home against the big boys play Arteta, Fabregas, Ozil - more solid defensively, plenty of creativity. There's LOADS of games in a season, enough to keep all the players happy, and fresh, and firing Arsenal to glory. Passing up on Fabregas would be downright negligent.
