rvw is still very well thought of across europe as a goal scorer - its only our lot where he has failed to deliver and there are many reasons for that, some of which were out of his control - he'll score goals wherever he goes next and make us look ridiculous, and i'd certainly expect to recoup at least £5m of his fee, possibly a bit more

The expected exodus begins to gather pace then if the papers are to be believed with Ruddy, Snodders and Wolf all on their way.

Going to be a busy revolving door this summer maybe with some outs followed by hopefully some good "ins"?

£5m would be a fair price

I'd rather keep as much of the squad as possible. Our strikers received very poor service last season, five midfield players who couldn't connect the dots together, RVW would of scored hatfulls if our midfield didn't sutter in possession and stopped attempting to cross the ball in all the time.

Our fans need to look at things clearer, plenty of top strikers missed three sitters last season, how often did we see a decent ball played to RVW's feet?

Whilst I agree, there's also the question of who still wants to be here. If RvW isn't up for the scrap, then I'd rather get a fair price for him and bring in someone who'll care. If he does want to go though, I'd rather loan him out if we could arrange that.

Fair point DH if the Benefica thing is true I'm sure he'd probably jump at the chance. We need to be ambitious if can't hold onto players then replace them with players who have the potential to play in the Prem, not a bunch of ****ty Championship cloggers.

Benfica have denied the RvW interest, saying it's been fabricated by his agent.

Tbf I'd be a bit peeved if he started banging them in in the Champions' League next season. He owes it to the fans as much as anyone else to get us out of this mess next season. He's got potential, and I truly believe he'll come good (whether for us or somebody else) but last year he was ****.

I feel very sorry for him our poor midfield and insistence on unsuitable tactics cost him his confidence and hurt his career. I'd like to keep him as I think he would be one of the most talented players in the league but I don't blame him for our relegation. He was always fighting and would go looking for the ball. If he went back to Portugal or to a team which creates chances he would be excellent.

Sorry but he was NOT ****, when he played he worked his arse off, the fact that NONE of our strikers did well highlights it wasn't their fault, if you don't create chances for the Strikers they aren't going to score.

Too many people are looking to blame the whole season on RvW and I'm ****ing sick of it!!

Do relax mate, you seem very angry these days!

I agree that last season's poor showing wasn't all down to him, we hardly worked to his strengths, did we.

I'd actually like to see him stay, he could be great in the championship. It's more likely though that he'll want to get his career back on track, and I doubt he'll think it will happen in this league.

I wonder how RVWs season would have panned out had he taken that penalty against Villa instead of Snodgrass.

Probably about the same given his lack of service.

Probably similar to Hoopers, took more of the few chances he got but still not bagging a hat full, the question is what would have happened if we had played Wes or another creative attacking mid behind him from the beginning

Yeah lot going on in life that I'm not too happy about, constant pain 24/7 makes me a bit ratty lol.

This RvW bashing just does my head in, he's not a ****e player for a start and secondly if you watched him honestly when he did play he worked very hard but he was trying to do 2jobs midfield and striker to create his own chances.

We've got to stop turning on our players or we'll have no one left.

Sorry to hear that's still a problem for you mate.

Agree entirely about RVW. I'd love him to stay and show us what he can do. I was excited when we bought him, and I think he owes me that!

If we had Quagliarella instead of Elmander...

I'd appreciate it if you could point out exactly where I blamed the whole season on van Wolfswinkel.

Of course, that's never going to happen because I've never said that, ever.

I've been supportive of him from the very start.

And when everyone was booing/criticising him, or Elmander, or Jackson, or Hughes or even Fotheringham, I was the one who stuck up for them, at least until they left.

And as much as you'd probably like to blame the entire season on Hughton or Delia or McNally, the fact is they didn't kick a single ball in anger.

I do blame Hughton's style of play for van Wolfswinkel not getting as many goals as he should have last season.

But van Wolfswinkel was lightweight, had a poor touch, struggled to get away from players and couldn't take the chances he got. Last year he wasn't very good at all. I certainly wouldn't criticise anyone for saying he was ****.

However, I saw him at Sporting and I do believe he is better than he was last season. He will improve, even though he'll probably never play for us again.

Please, take more consideration before you take out all your frustration on me next time.
