Shame to see Flappy go, but he deserves to start somewhere, surprised he didn't go to Schalke though, no disrespect to Swansea but Schalke are a far better side.
Realistic transfer business or not? Aurier (rb - 12mil), Schwarzer (gk - free), vela (wf - 3mil), fabregas (cm - 35mil), mandzukic (st - 15-20mil) Total cost: 65-70mil I'd prefer us to go for di Maria or Sanchez instead of vela if we have the funds available but at the respective prices I expect we will more likely go for vela.
Very possible with the exception of Fabregas, as we still do not know what his current status is for Barca. Also I agree, I'd rather go for either Di Maria or Sanchez over Vela. No disrespect for Vela as I like him but he didn't feel quite at home in the Premiership. He could be one of those players more suited for La Liga. We will have to wait and see.
I think realistically we'll only make 3 signings this summer knowing Wenger, new RB in Aurier, Vela as a striker, and a new backup GK. And that's it.
I think Morata may be the centreforward we bring in. People may be a bit disappointed at that but I prefer we bring in a player like Morata with World Class potential rather than waisting 10 million on a player like Remy. Morata could be a genius signing - it all depends how he adapts to the EPL
Morata...based on the one game I saw him in? Nasty. Seriously though we already have a big lump in Giroud so I see no need to add another, be it Madzukic (who's rumoured to be a disruptive tw*t) or Morata (young with potential). I'd rather we focused on someone who either compliments Ollie or adds a completely different option like Aguero/Suarez do. I'm not for one second suggesting we could sign either player, just that I like the powerful, fast forward who can beat a man and could also play off the big man if needed. Also, regarding Vela and Di Maria. I see no reason not to get both personally. If you're good enough you will play and should Vela not work out then you can make cracking money on him next season.
Yeah I can agree with that. A different kind of striker would be nice. At least with Morata he's quick so he will give us something new.
Di Maria doesn't sound like he wants to leave Real though and has talked about how he values his relationship with Ancelotti. This came after he was asked about last summer when he was potentially being used as a makeweight in the Gareth Bale bid and he quite rightly stated that it 'Hurt' to be linked to a club like Tottenham
Naughty. He didn't say "a club like" did he. As you, very reasonably, said it was the thought that Real didn't want him anymore. I think they probably do now after his last few performances.
Reading between the lines though, that's what he meant. If he was linked to a club like Barca or Bayern one would suspect he'd of had a different response. But Tottenham, I mean come on it's a huge step down from Real.
Di Maria is a regular starter now and has played alot of games in a central attacking mid position.Ancelotti seems to rate him highly. For that reason he's FAR less likely to leave. Unless of course Real need to finance a big move for the likes of Suarez.
Agreed. I think last summer was the time to bid for Di Maria. He looks really settled in that Real team now and Ancelotti obviously rates him. Spurs probably should have insisted that he was part of the Bale deal, but they went and bought Lamela instead ... who now wants out of Spurs apparently.
Talking of Lamela .. cheeky bid anybody ? Wenger would be able to get him playing his best football http://metro.co.uk/2014/05/29/totte...amela-up-for-sale-for-just-20million-4743807/
lets not **** about and get in early with our business. lets not wait to the end of the window and buy on last day as my nerves can't stand it. someone needs to tell AW that if you wait till the end of the disco to pull you only get the ones that no-one else wanted, or you go home on your own. and we really don't want to go home on our own without him buying a **** off world class striker that is going to spend all next season putting the ball in the back of the net from the assists of Ozil/Cazorla/Rambo and will lead us to the title.
Dear Santi i know its early to write my xmas wish list but i have been a good boy this year as i did win the FA Cup for my friends, so can i have some early presents [in July would be great]. so please can i have a new RB, a good solid GK on a free transfer, a back up CB on a free transfer, a pacy winger from Real Madrid called Di Maria, a world class striker like Benzema/Suarez, a striker to add to the squad like Remy, a promising talent like Morata, and either of the Bender brothers. yours Arsene aged 64 PS thanks for the new contract
