we paid 11.... his goals got them out of it along with AJ... well pens so if they have some emotional blindness they might shovel the sky tv money at us for him. everyone can afford to pay 10mil after all. if he's gone before preseason even better as he's overdue an injury after all too boot.
Some one like Dzeko and Hernandez who can come in and grab important goals would be very useful. If Lambert can do this, go for it!
**** off, 11 mill!!!!!!! Had forgotten what he cost but that is exceptional even by our recent standards. Jesus what were we thinking????
Going with that approach, we'd have to eliminate the cup games too since they faced different opposition. Also, we'd only be able to count the equivalent league games that they both played in. What about the opposition line-ups being different too? Of course, they have different teammates making all impossible anyway.
But think we also need another top class shooty man, to go with your super sub. So yeah, four in totoal.
Red mist? Hardly son, I'm just pissing myself laughing at some of absolute horse **** you lot come out with at times. You're signing a past it average striker and yet you've got to try and make out he's somehow better than one of the best strikers of recent times who's played at the highest level all over the World, it's ****ing side splitting stuff. Do carry on.........
I say give Borini a chance. We have Sterling who scores goals to, and if Lallana signs we'll have even more.
Have we just agreed a merger with them and they're just easing us in with transfer speculation before making it official? I see Pochettino went so it was obviously him or Shark Tale... Sotherpool, Livhampton.
I wouldn't say Lambert is past it - he's actually reaching the peak of his career i.e. place in the WC squad and joining LFC. But he'll be a squad player at best. Get rid of Aspas for £4m and get Lambert in. Adding a Plan B for very little cost. Smart business. Emre Can talks expected to conclude this weekend - will be interesting if we can agree personal terms. I think he's a gem of a player and in a critical position for us.
brendan liked him.... thats why i'm hoping sunderland recent past and his saviour status might just suck a silly bid out of them.
He's an upgrade on Aspas deffo. But it's sort of like trading in your Alfa that's left you stuck on the hardshoulder one too many times for a Volkswagen Jetta, a bit uninspiring but you know you're not going to be on the hardshoulder again. Also he hasn't missed a pen since 2009 34/34 so if it comes to that a good option to have.
oh i've gone from brain to son... hark at the attempted patronizing.... I do find it hilarious... like i said i could give a bollocks... everyone knows your just on defending eats cos its us and you'll keep it up all day... cos its us... but its good entertainment on a slow friday so can you come up with any more gems like "of recent times"
Tobes, eat a Snickers, you turn into a right diva when you're hungry (nearly lunchtime so that part of the day).
Diame? He's really looking for a move. Nearly joined us until Kenny got sacked, it was a done deal bar personal terms Would you have him?
I see your point but £4m for what is essentially a last resort, back up option who will work hard but also provide us with a physical presence up top is what we need. I'm sure this is just the first of many signings this summer - expect better players to come in the coming weeks/months. Repped.
Lambert Plus points: 1. Experience in the Premiership/Proven scorer in the Premiership. You may discount this but you only have to look at various foreign imports to know that having players who are proven can be crucial. 2. Team player. Excellent at bringing other players into the game. 3. Technically and Tactically he is a very good player. He has a great touch, great vision and great off the ball movement. He also knows when to release players and when to hold up the ball. 4. Set pieces. He is brilliant at penalties as well as free kicks. [I know Gerrard is no1 for penalties and Suarez for free kicks but in games where they are not playing etc] Another point to make is that older players have a role to play, Ferguson often brought in older players he knew could contribute for a season or two [Sherringham, Larson] Players who know how football works, happy to play a squad role, great in the dressing room and who are over joyed at being able to play for a great team at the end of their career.
God no - another 'MOTD' player. Looks good in the highlights but pretty dross overall. Lars Bender is the box to box mid we should be going after.
