Seems we are not signing anyone under 30. Is this the current policy?

Is it just me or did Gomes and Tamas both get official announcements on the website but Dyer hasn't yet? Is Dyer's move confirmed yet? Think Gomes isn't official until 1 July (like Dyer I thought?) so it's not because of that.

Just spoke to a mate at work who is a Baggies fan - Tamas was a big favourite with the crowd, but a bit too difficult to handle!

I think money is going to be a massive issue this summer. Many clubs have unloaded quite a few players to lower their wage bill and that is happening down the leagues, so there are going to be a few players on big wages on contracts with a few years left beginning to worry. FFP will drive down wage bills and clubs will have to find ways to do it.

Luke Freeman from Stevenage is being touted.

Be nice to have two wingers in the squad alongside Anya.

    Real pace and skill.

There will also be players on high wages who won't leave their clubs even if they are not likely to make the first team. Why would Danny Graham, for example, leave Sunderland for lower wages? He knows he will probably be loaned out, get first team experience, and keep his pay. He will then settle for lower pay when he signs for a new club after his contract expires.

I think it depends entirely on the player. Some players are concerned simply about the short term and money, whereas others look at it as 'if I take the 50% wage cut but get a 3yr deal I am secure for those three years, whereas if I stick at 100% for this one year nothing is secure.' Sunderland do not seem at all interested in DG, and he seems unlikely to break into their first team and whilst he is at the club he is a cost to them as they pay his wages. If he is on approximately £40,000 p/w then no championship club is likely to pay 100% of his wages due to the FFP, they could have 2/3 younger players in their team for that. So Sunderland are likely to want to offload him and free up that £40,000p/w to spend elsewhere. Similar to the salary cap in the NFL.

Probably not at all - it's well known that Ecuadorian footballers are Parodes of the real thing... <whistle>
