He pumped money into that club whereas with United he extracted money and dumped a massive loan which had be repaid by the club itself. In one instant the club changed from being the most profitable in the world to the most indebted.
The amount of interest paid to banks and others as a result of the takeover was more than $500million - can you imagine how many Messis and Ronaldos could have been bought with this amount?
And no, the Glazer period was not United's most successful ever !
