Haha, me neither. I'm wondering when he'll eventually say the whole Pulis thing was a big joke on his part and we all fell for it
Exactly what I was thinking

what are these other causes, PS? i presume you mean, corners, free kicks, wing play resulting in a cross? etc etc?
what's wrong with my old one?
it reflects my Plato like thinking....and my Socratarian depth of knowledge !
Nice way to compliment Pulis as he got them fit, improved their team spirit and finished it off by winning premier league manager of the year. (in at the gym at 6am every morning to sort out the weak players) and has a better win rate then Poch, Martninez and Rodgers (who all managed little clubs). You can poke fun all you like (at the mention of Pulis) but he would have embraced the spurs traditions and brought back the good times.
I'm with Boss, I would of preferred Pulis to Poch too.

Good - Plan B is over-rated. What you actually need is a good Plan APochettino means ...
.......Plan B is so secret, I'll be gone before you've worked it out!

Good - Plan B is over-rated. What you actually need is a good Plan A
I agree, the sort of plan that saves a club from relegation and wins premier league manager of the year. That was a great plan A!
But this high pressing game needs a plan B, out of all the systems in the game its the one which needs a plan B as its the hardest to implement as I can foresee the same issues we had with Avb, in the sense we will struggle to break teams down and our fans will be moaning why we look clueless as the other team sits back. If its simply press high and then nothing else, then be prepared to be let-down. Good managers adapt their ways from job to job so we are going to find out if Pochettino is the type to adapt, or if he just reverts back to one style.
What we need, is a manager who is smart enough to know when it isn't working and can adapt to draw the opposition out, rather then just sit there gloomy faced and hands in the air as the opposition keep us out.
If you look at chelsea with Willian, Shurrle, Oscar, Hazard etc (who I know we can't afford). But it's the TYPE of player they have for the attacking mid/winger positions. - Skillful, agile, good with the ball, can run at players, good final product etc etc. - we've hardly anyone like that, and it applies in several areas of the pitch. It's not that we don't have some good players, it's just that many of them lack the attributes required to be successful in that formation.
Chelsea's way of playing is interesting as Mourinho sacrificed Mata for Oscar and since Mata left, Oscar's form dropped off so they had a CAM who just worked harder, closed down but was useless with the ball (because of his form) and there aren't many players who can close down (and be creative) in that role behind the striker, plus Levy made a big thing of us playing "the spurs way". High pressing game isn't the spurs way, the spurs way is about playing open attractive football, stretching teams and scoring beautiful goals.
If we're going to play a high pressing game then really there needs a squad overhaul (again) because as we saw under Avb, it doesn't work and to Avb's credit he did know how to use the system, its just as we know he tried it with the wrong players. Will Pochettino be any different as he had all the key players at saints when he arrived and most of his signings where flops.
Eh? One signing didn't work because he was mental. Wanyama has been good (and until injury was part of the second meanest defensive unit in Europe) and Lovren has been sensational. So, without putting too fine a point on it, your assertion there is bollocks.
For what it's worth, I think you've played something of a masterstroke here and landed yourself someone who will fit very well for you. You'll struggle to find a single Saints fan that wanted him to leave, which should tell you something.

Cheers for that pal. Wanyama is average, I watched him in Scotland and seen him over here and yes he was average. Osvaldo was a ridiculous signing, one which Pochettino couldn't handle and isn't suited to the type of football saints play, not to mention he is prone to doing something stupid. Lovren was a good buy, but that wasn't all down to Pochettino, but I'll give him a little credit for that signing.
Managing saints is different to managing a bigger club like us so hearing that your fans didn't want to lose him won't mean anything to us.
So you agree, he made one bad signing then....
Wanyama has a lot of very positive qualities and makes us a lot more defensively solid when he plays. Check the results.
Clearly there's not much point debating things with you, but you've got yourself a good manager here. In most instances that would make people happy....
No, because only you believe Wanyama was a good signing.
He hasn't proven himself as a good manager, he is 42 and could be out of his depth, so lets see what he does before we start calling him great, or fantastic.
You're getting the AVB you thought you were getting first time around, rather than the one you got.
Just an opinion, but having seen the impact he made on Saints, and the way he had us playing, it's a vaguely educated one.
