Indeed. Also, £40m for a player who wasn't even a regular starter last season is mental. Good bit of business that. I do appreciate the irony of Chelsea not being a selling club, Mata, Luiz not being for sale blah blah blah though.
Hi how do you guys feel about the transfer targets i would try to get to arsenal if i was in charge: -Debuchy proven in this league imo on the same level as sagna and a bit younger should be about 8-12 mill i think could be wrong -Carlos Vela Tbh i dont think i am the only one guilty of not watching alot of real sociedad this season but his goal scoring and assist stats from the wings show me he is definitely worth the 4 mill -Cesc fabregas i think this one is a no brainer a player such as fabregas being available we have to snap him up we dont need him but he will vastly improve a starting 11 big upgrade on arteta if we dont get him he will improve another prem team alot -back up goalie anyone half decent cheap and dosent mind being back up - and now finaly the striker i personaly have no idea who we could go for
This has just appeared in our local rag - http://www.southwales-eveningpost.c...sz-Fabianski/story-21157678-detail/story.html
Talksport is reporting that Fabianski has signed for Swansea. The Torygraph is reporting we've started talks with Madrid about signing Morata.
Good luck to Fabianski, he's become a really good Keeper. Too good to be second choice I hope he gets his chance at Swansea.
Ah cack. Just started a Fabianski thread as I'd not read this! B*llocks to the lot of you... On the subject of keepers though what do people think of Ruddy to us? Seemingly he was keen to be Chelsea's 2nd/3rd choice last season and wouldn't cost the earth either. I personally think he's an excellent keeper and would really push Chezzers which can only be a good thing. I'd be delighted if we got him for around the £4-6m mooted. To the chap who mentioned Debuchy too... er, wouldn't be the end of the world. He's a good player when on form but prone to bouts of "batsh*tmentalitis"! He's used to the Premier league though and wouldn't cost the earth. There's certainly worse we could buy but I think we'll make a move for Aurier. Vela - don't think anyone would complain. We can buy him for an absolute bargain and, should it go tits up again, we can sell him the following season for no doubt a huge profit.
We're linked to Eto: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/samuel-etoo-eyes-arsenal-transfer-3618525 All I gotta say is no.
At this stage based on our current crop of rumours I would go with.. Daryl Janmaat - Dutch RB. Perfect replacement for Sagna - £10 Million approx. Matthias Ginter - £10 Million. Young German CB. Great talent. David Marshall - £8Million - We need decent no. 2 Carlos Vela - £3m - Bargain. Mario Mandzukic -£15 Million approx. Cesc Fabregas - £35 Million - World Class. Can play deep or behind a striker. ----------------------------Sczezney(Marshall)---------------------------------- Janmaat(Jenkisnon)--Merts(Ginter)--Koscielney(Vermaelen)--Gibbs(Monreal) ------------------Ramsey(Wilshere)------Fabregas(Arteta)---------------------- --------------------------------Ozil(Rosicky)-------------------------------------- -----Walcott(Vela)--------Mandzukic(Giroud)----------Carzorla(Podoslki)----- That gives us two quality teams (we need to rotate more)
The rumour is that Marshall will cost £15 million, there are stronger rumours that we'll sign Aurier as an RB
For a RB, i wouldn't mind Aurier or Debuchy, preferably Debuchy, because he's not african and therefore isn't hamstrung by the ACoN. For a backup keeper, i'd take one of the good free agents, someone like Pantilimon or Speroni, no point spending a lot of money on a backup I'd re-sign Vela, it makes no sense not to at that price. Ashley Williams would do as a 3rd/4th choice CB, our first choice pairing pick themselves (Mertescielny) Striker is where it gets complicated, due to a lack of options. It's all well and good getting someone better than Giroud (so pretty much anyone), but we need a proper top drawer striker to maintain a league push, Giroud could be sold to get a good 2nd choice option too.
I think the general idea is that Fabianski will be number 1 with Tremmel number 2. Vorm rumoured to be on his way out.
According to Marca,Arsenal are going to activate the €4 million(£3.3 million) buy back clause in Carlos Vela's contract.
