Similar to the situation here, although much less acrimonious.

Unlike certain other managers, he finished his contract. And unlike certain other managers he accomplished everything he set out to do, having won the League and doing extremely well in Europe. Also unlike certain other managers he was pretty adamant while there that he was happy and not leaving until his contract was up.

But he and several of his players had become high profile enough that they could move on to bigger things. I don't think Basel could have paid them enough, and they still have enough to win their league. I think it was just sort of in everyone's best interests to part ways.

It's a shame some of there front three have already left. I have to say I loved watching them play in the Europa league and the champions league for the last couple of seasons. They didn't just sit back and went for it.

If he brings Fabian Schar with him, that'll be a very encouraging start.

Every time I've watched Basel over the last few seasons I've thought they were similar to us. I think he would be an excellent choice

Yep classy player, marauding from CB against Chelsea. Seemly overlooking after being linked with some top sides in the last year, it would be a real coup if we got him judging from his CL performances.
