I did say I heard he was offered a new 3 year contract before the end of the season. As Blackmore said the board ****ed up by not making it public.

But why does that matter so much? Surely the only people who need to know are our board and Pochettino?

Given those expectations, it's surprising that Levy has been getting away with setting them for so long without more pressure coming onto himself.

Levy owns part of ENIC (who own the club) he is doing a fine job (in their eyes) and he isn't going anywhere and as he keeps us running financially sound and has improved the business part then he is safe, plus he is lucky Redknapp was around, as take out the four years under Redknapp and we would have likely been bouncing from manager to manager (like we are now).

What pisses me off, is that Spurs fans think they are a big club, that can bully teams like Saints.
Here news for them. They used to be, along with the likes of Villa, Forest, Everton, but that was in 80s&90s
That's when we had the European cup. Now with the Champions League, where if you finish 4th, you feel like a winner! Such BS. There is only one champion, should be no prize for 2nd, 3rd and 4th, but there is, it was a sad day, when teams would rather finish 4th, than win the FA Cup!
You can stick the Champions League up your a$&e, as far as I am concerned.
Rant over. Have a good day, Ladies and Gentlemen.:-)

Only that there have been some fans (notably on SainstWeb) who thought the board was sitting on their hands....why they would think that I have no idea.?

I'm not sure many have really been criticizing, just guessing as to why MP is going, lack of investment, letting players go, etc, etc. It is a tough time for them and they do need to show their colours and strengths over the next few weeks to let the fans know, they know what they are doing.

This....god knows this is going to be one hell of a pre season, hope I'm wrong but I don't think its going to be good.

Why are people criticizing the board? They offered him anew contract, they can't physically force him to sign and stay.

They could have handled it far better. Like publicly say they have offered him a contract. As people are saying to Blackmore it would have put more pressure on him to sign or leave far earlier then it has been going on for.

Seems an odd choice to sack Redknapp then doesn't it?

Why would it? He's not exactly a stranger to evading questions on his contractual situation is he.

If Pochettino does leave, and I mean IF, then I think we should go for a left field appointment and go for a female manager.

Katie Price (aka Jordan) is free having dumped her hubbie.

She would ensure we are well stacked up front, and ask the defence to play from the back down the central channel! Also she has handled many high profile footballers in her time so wouldn't be phased if things went off in her face (too much?)

Guys, its only football, and money always talks!

all it would serve to do is make poch show his hand publicly.

that is desirable in some cases. maybe not this one. the board perhaps knew he would not accept it and didn't need to pressure him to test his mettle.

Would of made the fans less crazy? Would have made Pochettino make his decision up far more quickly.

unless he'd already made his decision clear to them.

why publicly pressure him if he's waiting for an answer from spurs and risk making his position untenable?

The fact that Spurs fans do not appear to be behind the (potential) appointment would suggest that Pochettino might be in for a rough ride should Spurs not get off to a great start to next season.

Such a shame that they really don't know what a great manager they appear to be getting. George Graham was their manager when I first got into football, and this could easily turn out to be their best appointment since then - and they've had a fair few!
