fingers crossed all the noises are wrong and everybody (bar lovren) is refusing to commit to southampton as a glorious practical joke.

Because you've been saying "he's gone" for weeks now and you want him to go to validate your own integrity?

Nothing wrong with finding some solace in seeing the reactions of all the people who are slowly but surely having to open their eyes and take their fingers out of their ears. I'm sure nobody is happy with this news, but it has been a little strange seeing people over the last few weeks and months shouting that nothing is going to happen.

I don't see him saying that at all? Why are we having a go at DTLW - he's merely suggesting that there's no smoke without fire, much as a lot of us have been feeling/fearing for the past few weeks (and during the clubs noisy silence).

It's a bizarre response because you're talking about whether she can spend the money on whatever she wants, which isn't the point at all.

I said questions should be asked and you asked why. The answer to that question is so obvious that's it's a bizarre question. If Southampton football club is bringing in tens of millions of pounds in TV revenue and tens of millions of pounds by selling players and isn't re-investing any of that money in playing staff then any fan who is intending to give money to Southampton football club should want to know where those millions of pounds are going. Whether or not the club's owner is legally entitled to do what she wants with the money is a separate issue.

Well I could ask what you gain by asking? If none of the money (no decent amount) is re-invested, then it is just as obvious that the ambitions are lower than previously set. I don't want to know where they are going Puck; just want to know what the plans are in terms of ambition. Pointless asking the questions in my view. If they don't spend a lot of money on Saints, why does it matter where it is going? It won't make the disappointment any easier.

the only questions I'd ask would be:

1. Are you selling?
2. What are your plans for the next 3-5 years if you are not investing.

There's quite a lot wrong with that actually. I'd leave it out if I were you.

A bit unfair, as DTLW continually feeds us info; some people just choose to dismiss it. You of all people PTF shouldn't be putting reasons into peoples mouths, even if you disguise it as a question. You don't like that when done to you.

I honestly hate it when Saints Fans try to make a story out of everything, it feels like there trying to provoke a reaction. No need.

this then comes under the are you happy you renewed your season ticket conversation doesn't it?

many fans are buying saints up front regardless of the business done between now and august. we only get to modify our spending the next season at which point apparently we similarly have no right to expect anything.

Further to the ill-wishes I previously expressed towards Tottenham, I'm now beginning to hope Argentina get stuffed in the World Cup (they probably won't though).

As gutted as I am, he looks a gonner.

Next Southampton Manager sees Gus Poyet as the favorite at 5/1
Then .....

Dan Petrescu 6/1
Neil Lennon 6/1
Then Malky Mackay, Di Matteo and Sherwood are the front runners.

What a **** Bank holiday.................

I said previously that my decision to get a season ticket is always about "can I afford it"... if I can, I go and get one to watch my team. I have never made that decision based on who we have and what we spend, etc.

My questions would be just about wanting to understand the possible future of my club.
