Krancjar would have to go on a major diet. Always looks laboured.

Really don't want Lampard - just too much Chelsea for me or Rio either.

Rhodes would be a great signing but would prefer to keep Remy if at all possible

i really hope we dont buy a whole team again. we need to keep this core and add to it. if they try and integrate more than 5 or 6 first team players thats when things dont go right like us before and tottenham last year. id like us to keep zamora, barton, dunne, hill and lots of the older players if we can get them on a sensible wage. i think swp has to go as does aj and most of hughes signings. would be great if we could keep remy then i think we would be fine up front but i think he will want out

is cesar out of contract now? or have we got him on 100k a year for another year? i kno whe was on a hell of alot but im amazed no one came in for him he is a top top keeper. also anyone think its worth trying to keep hold of mbia? hes done well this year and liverpool might be interested so surely he would be good for us

I thought we recalled Cesar last week? Green's out of contract this Summer. More goalkeeper choices...again

thought so. if we cant offload him i guess we should keep him and play him. would be harsh on green but we dont need to 2 keepers of that ilk. i thought he was one of only a few who performed that horrid year.

Here's how my 25 squad would shape up (including new signings, in bold):

GK: Green, Kuszczak (out of contract, free), Murphy

Defence: Simpson, Yun, Caulker (Cardiff, worth spending) Onuoha, Dunne, Wisdom (year loan from Liverpool), (Byram, Leeds) , Hill (coach, used only in emergencies)

Midfield: Phillips, Hoilett, Kranjcar, Traore, Barton, O'Neil, Snodgrass (Norwich, worth the fee)*, Faurlin, Thorne (Derby)

Strikers: Austin, Zamora, Kane (Year loan, Tottenham), Borini (Liverpool)

One space left - Couldn't decide between Doyle/Ravel, or another of the targets listed below*.

*Would be tempted by McGugan, Ince (unlikely to come to us when talking to Milan!), or Sinclair (Man City) if Snodgrass was unavailable.

This would involve brining the following in on free transfers:

  • Kuszczak
  • Wisdom
  • Kane

But paying for the following, which should be affordable with transfer fees expected incoming for Remy, Taarabt and Granero (I'd guess £20m in total, mostly from Remy) plus promotion money:

  • Caulker (£8m)
  • Snodgrass (£8m)
  • Byram (£2m)
  • Thorne (£4m)
  • Borini (Not sure we'd get him - maybe on loan)

Edit: This would also involve freeing up wages from Remy, Granero, Park, Taarabt, Carroll, Hughes, Luke Young, BAE, SWP, Jenas, Henry, Yossi, Johnson and Maiga. So I suspect our wage bill would go down significantly, despite signings posited above! Hoorah!)

Thorne's on loan from WBA so probably won't be available to buy, but good list :)

yes maloney or gomez from wigan would be good. i do like redman from norwich too i think he would be great buy. lescott would be good if his wages were sensable. also not sure if powell from united/wigan could be an option. taylor is a good player but injury prone

We will need
GK x 2, maybe 3 if green doesn't resign
LB x 1 plus Yun
CB x 3 plus Onuoha, Dunne will be sold to champ team
RB x 1 plus Simpson
CM x 3 plus Barton, henry won't make the 25, x2 if we resign faurlin
LW x 1 plus Traore
RW Hoilett plus philips
AM x 2
CF x 3 plus Austin.
1 utility player
That gives us 25 plus hitchcock who doesn't need to make the 25.

Its a massive job. One that I really dont want the current manager to do. 17-18 new players!

We simply cannot make so many changes at once.
1 new CB, a LB, a forward and a young creative attacking midfielder will do.

That's 4, name me 21 of the current lot you'd keep.

I'd keep:
Green;Murphy;Simpson;Traore;Dunne;Hill;Phillips;Austin;Yun;Onuoha;Barton;Henry;Hoilett;Zamora;Ehmer;Faurlin;Benayoun;O'neill;Donaldson;Petrasso;Hitchcock.
I'd take another keeper if a good one came along. Wholesale changes just won't work.

Donaldson, Hitchcock, petrasso and ehmer don't count in the 25. Even if we kept everyone, that's still eight new faces to fill out the 25, 9 if Cesar isn't back.

That's still a very, very poor squad with about 8 PL quality players

Buying 11 players like we did the other year just don't work, get in about 6 quality players & with what we got should hold firm then re-access in jan.
