What a player!!! Signs off with a winners' medal!!!! How England's rugby team could do with him now. Not flamboyant but what he executed was brilliant, whether it was a well-timed pass, breathtaking tackle or sublime kick.
Thank you Dan!!! I thnk there is a place for special threads like this!!!! For a great player of whatever sport. We should celebrate it!!
I'm not going to go all severe and start merging this with the Off-Topic thread, but I would remind Ides that this has nothing to do with Saints, and when he next feels the need to tell us something that is non-Saints related, that he puts it in the Off-Topic thread and gives it a title. I'm sure it will be seen and commented on by those who care about the subject matter. Ta.
Rugby makes me angry. All those lovely gay men fondling each other all game long and only one of them has had the balls to come out the closet.
Well no not just one but he posted one on politics a few days ago and the Commonwealth games before that. It just gets irritating after a few threads.
Lovely feedback!! Naughty me!! Must remember to be a good little boy like you and post everything on the off-topic thread. You should be a moderator!!!
To quote the late Bill McClaren after France beat Scotland in the World Cup in 1995 in South Africa "I've never seen so many Frenchmen kissing and cuddling each other."
I'd suggest that if you're going to post a celebratory thread like this about one of England's greatest sportsmen (I have no problem with doing it btw), you really should try and spell his name correctly for starters.....
Wish I'd done a Senna one now on the anniversary of his death. Allowing this could end up getting all sorts going really. Maybe we need a non-sport off topic and a other sport off topic thread. The only issue I have with a thread like this, is that it will inevitably lead to lots of others being started and then there'll be a row and then we'll descend into the usual summer debauchery. One rule for one, another for someone else depending if we like the person or the topic? Can you really imagine letting the GOT gang starting a thread on that?
Before I invite a moderator to close this thread, I'd like to point out that Liverpool's board has plenty of off-topic threads regarding various issues. By having all non-football threads under one roof, it can be hard to sustain a discussion if one moment someone is givning a critique of Coldplay's latest CD, while the next few lines are devoted to some absurd videogame debate. As we are in the close season and things are a little quiet footballing wise, why don't we allow non-football related issues and see how they run. If they get over the top then close them. Over to you mods!!
I don't see anything wrong with a topical sport thread...it will have a natural life. It is also off season and makes a change from discussing MP.
Ides, it isn't your topic, but once you open that gate, the floods can start. It is a football forum and there is an area to post other stuff. I'm not pissed off or mad like some people mention, just pointing out that if the forum accepts this as 'ok' then any thread must be accepted; we could then very quickly find that you need to search hard to find the threads on Saints.
