Grobellar

Benali, Pele, Hoiveld, Van Damme

Wanyama, Redknapp, Fernandes, Ramirez

McCann, Shipperly

It's a Premier League XI

(waits for abuse)

I don't do abuse, usually:emoticon-0111-blush BUT Benali would give everything for Saints. Hoiveld is a decent player etc etc. They were/are all OK: not the best but far from the worst.

Ah, that's who I meant, made his debut when we got dicked by Palace at home, got him mixed up with Alex Pearce as they both were loaned to us by Reading

Yep. Opening game of the season at home to Palace got smashed 1-4. The most shambolic defensive performance I've probably ever witnessed. Bennett was clueless. Vignal and Makin also played in that woeful game.

Having supported Saints since 2002, this is what I've picked, but in no particular formation:

Gazzaniga

Wright, Jakobsson, Hajto, Lancashire, Bennett, Molyneux

Euell, Wotton, Smith

Robertson, Paterson, Delgado

Am I the only person who remembers Dave McLaren, signed from Wolves (after we beat them 9-3) to replace Campbell Forsyth who had broken his leg? Worst goalie I've seen play for Saints.

No, I remember him. I was also at that 9-3 game. He wasn't as bad as Gazza, unfortunately.

Ali Dia not getting a mention then?

Mickey Evans wasn't bad at all. We signed with a handful of games to go, he scored half a dozen times, and we stayed up.

Neil McCann on the other hand... or Delgado...

Has anybody mentioned Neil Heaney. Signed from Arsenal I think. He was shocking.
What about George Lawrence fairly poor as well although he had a heart as big as an ox

George Lawrence got big Ron the sack. We could hold him responsible for Fergie's reign at United.
