We should have had him, his dad would never have allowed it though. Shame.

Good for Jack and well done Nigel Pearson. If he happens to come good or do well against us at some point, you can bet that some idiot will come on here ... and post about his disloyalty, hating the club, etc etc

    Rightly so.

Well, it will be his dad's fault. He wants Hull City to fail, as he proved by getting Bullard out. I've not yet got my finger on his motive yet but I'm certain it's something to do with his beloved Hull FC.

Is he any better than what we have got - or is this just sentiment talking?

Nah, more likely to be a case of him coming good, playing for big clubs while at his prime, then coming to us for his retirement fund becaue "it was always his dream to play for his home town club".

It feels like two fingers up to the Allams from both Nick and Nigel to me.

Anyone who thinks that money was the motivation for Nick Barmby joining Hull City, is quite frankly a moron.

I thought Leeds basically were paying Barmby's wages when he was at City.

I remember reading a headline saying Barmby took £28k a week paycut to join City.

If Pearson/Walsh are signing a young up and coming player, chances are he’ll be some sort of wunderkind. The fact that it’s Barmby’s son does gut me a little though.

With regard to Nick Barmby, I don’t understand why any true City fan would bad mouth him or insuate that he saw Hull City as some sort of retirement fund.

Although it does seem that some ‘City fans’ support the needs and reputation of the Allam family above and beyond Hull City itself.

Fact: Jack Barmby was born on outskirts of London so Hull is not his hometown club so if he was to play for his hometown club it would be a Club in Hertfordshire

I have nothing against Nick Barmby, who was great for the club as a player, and I am certainly not privy to the full circumstances of his dismissal, but imho anyone who seriously believes that we would have achieved what we have done, with him in charge, is living in cloud cuckoo land.

I do not think that he had the coaching or managerial experience to make a sustained attempt to get us out of the championship to start with, or to attract the sort of players that Bruce has done, so please no more 'Nick the saint' and 'Allam the villain' stuff, its old news. Allam's mistake in my view was to appoint him in the first place, and I very much doubt that his son not having signed for us is going to be a crucial factor in our future fortunes

What he chooses to advise his son is of no concern to me - I suspect that Leicester have a better development squad set up than we do and that IS something we need to address - which recent statements from Bruce and the club suggest we are doing.

Nick Barmby isn't a City fan, in summary.

You have direct cast iron evidence of that do you i.e. the words from his mouth?

Go on, I've been eagerly awaiting your contribution to this topic.

Your insight has opened my eyes and made me look beyond the facade of hometown hero/boyhood dream etc. and realise what a massive **** Nick is. More can be cured from the Barmby's blindness, it's worth writing again.

NB and his son are nothing to do with HULL CITY.

Good luck for the future NB and good luck to your son also .

Apart from that there's nothing to say .
