Inspired by Kent's post, it's probably time for another of these.

    1) At least we've got a manager, so we can begin to identify targets and make squad changes.

    Anyone else got anything?

Had a day full of dealing with people with no ambition and come back home to this.

    Back to little old Norwich.

    Awful decision!!

Whilst I think it is a gamble, and certainly not the decision I would have made, I don't quite understand why everyone is being so completely defeatist about it - it's not like we've re-appointed the Rodent!!
Every manager has to start somewhere, Neeyul is clearly very knowledgable about the game, seems well liked and respected by the players so who is to say he's not got a great managerial career ahead of him?

I can't think of many people I'd like more to be a success in the management game, here's your chance Neeyull - don't let us down!

No Bank Holiday in Vietnam, either, but I'll try to think of positives.

    1) Whoever we appointed a lot of people were going to be unhappy. There was no standout candidate that everyone agreed on (although I think fans would have pulled together behind any of Lennon, Mackay or Zola).

    2) There is a minor chance that this is a masterstroke and we will all be eating Delia's Humble Pie this time next year.

And that's all I can think of.

We are still not Colchester Utd <ok>

We remain unbeaten in the 2014/15 season

We are still in all cup competitions in the 2014/15 season

    I still live in Thailand

We've got a good team trainer and I think reasonably astute tactician (or at least someone who can make changes in game - see Liverpool game). If as suggested a Tech Director is brought in also then we may have a very good man for the job given some of the other business and transfer responsibilities will be dealt with by another.

So is it Adams that people have a problem with or the time to appoint him (which led us to believe it would be anyone but him)?

I do feel a little underwhelmed, but that does not mean it's a bad appointment.

Underwhelmed is the right word Pablo and when I heard the news last night I admit to being immediately numb. In addition this does beg the question if Adams was always the choice, why wait so long? I suspect that we have been turned down by someone and maybe more than one, otherwise if he was clearly the right choice the appointment could have been confirmed at the end of the season. Surely there was very little in his 5 games in charge to suggest that he will get us straight back up and for DM to say that he will play in a style that we all want to see one has to ask where is the evidence for that, certainly not on the back of performances against Man Utd and for long periods against Chelsea! I know this thread is supposed to be positive but I am sorry DH I will have to get back to you on that one!

He doesn't appear to have been anyone's first choice but I think there has been an overreaction. As yet we have very little to go on and we may well be pleasantly surprised.Having said that I think I have reined in my ambitions from auto promotion to top six.

He's not the worst but I think it's time to assess who the likely players he's going to bring in from the youth team, who's likely? and would they be any good?

on a happier note, Redmond wants to stay and Adams has lots of experience managing young players :)

    when life give you lemons.....

certainly an underwhelming appointment and to me it smacks of a few candidates (the ones we wanted) turning us down. However, i am hoping the board pull a rabbit out the hat with backroom staff and technical director. I know Neil Warnock is always fishing for such a position on talksport, never liked him until i heard a few times on that. Seems to talk a good game.

On a positive note - we have a lot of good youth players coming through and i couldnt think of anyone better than Neil Adams to pave the transition for them to the 1st team.
There will be less pressure on the players next season so hopefully we see some free flowing attaching football!
