Ah sh*t balls. Looks pretty official now. Hope for his sake he plays but I think he'll spend a lot of time on his arse from now on.
Know what though? After Sagna we're pretty much set on the contract side of things. Think Theo is on 3 years and Pod/Giroud on 2 (confirmation) but the main spine of the team are all sorted until they're dead. Priority for me would be looking to get Theo signed up and obviously reinforcing the squad with roughly 3 new players.
I get the impression that Theo's last contract was a compromise,I think there is now a very good chance of getting him to sign a new longer contract
http://www1.skysports.com/football/...nsists-arsene-wenger-will-have-money-to-spend - Statement of intent "Although Lord Harris refused to divulge the budget available to Wenger, he did confirm the club would be willing to allow Wenger to once more break the club's transfer record. "We would. It would be easy," Lord Harris said. "There is a lot of paper talk. I wouldn't say it is £100m, I wouldn't say it's £50m and I wouldn't say it's £150m. "If Arsene has asked for any player then we have always backed him to go and buy. With the exception of Messi, Ronaldo or Bale, we could buy most players.""
Edin Dzeko anybody ? He's in his final year at City and apparently they haven't offered him a contract yet. Reports that Valencia will offer £20m for him this summer. I think that's a steal in the current market. He's good both in the air and on the ground and has got a wicked shot on him.
We would have to pay the rivals tax. It looks like Mandzukic might be going elsewhere so he'd be a good option
The board are saying they're ready to spend again, but is it just a coincidence that these big nice statements always come out right before season ticket renewal time? We don't want to 2nd, 3rd, 4th, we want to win the league, win the UCL, getting 2-3 top quality players to get us there etc etc, all the right sale points to pitch.
I've never understood those who hold that kind of view. Supporting a football team is not something you switch on and off, I think there would have been very few fans who didn't renew season tickets in recent years because we weren't successful. Football affects your everyday life if you're a proper fan, it pisses you off when you lose, wasn't anybody elses Saturday night ruined when we lost at Stoke ? I remember standing in a pub proper miserable. If you choose to be an active fan and go to matches, and can afford it and your circumstances permit you to do it, then you'll go whether we finish 4th or 14th every year....
Be that as it may! They're still going to want to market and make it more appealing. I was close to crying after we lost to Stoke, the whole day became depressing.
I just got ****-faced and had a coupel of very large angry bets that I regretted heavily on Sunday morning.....
At this rate, i wouldn't say no, seems i underestimated the kid's ability, a few football writers have him in their all european team of the season. Don't know why i called him a kid, seeing as he's only 2 years younger than me, but whatevs.
If it was about success only then the champions would be sold out every week and every other ground empty. I reckon football is so important to some fans that the Saturday result is the difference between their wife getting beaten up or ****ed allways that night...
