You can't say that though, if they didn't get that corner they would not have had them penalty shouts.

Similar to the Rugby World Cup a few years ago, England wrongly had a try not given against South Africa, S Africa fans said that would of only made it 13-12, but who knows if South Africa would still have got 13. The referee unfortunately got done by Arsenal numerous times in the first half giving them free kicks that weren't, which yet again changed the whole shape of the game.

I have no doubt Arsenal would still have won, however the referee changed the game and the course of the game would not have been the same.

And you seriously think Steve Stuck in Quick Sand Harper would have got anywhere near any of the goals?

McGregor did OK, he was annoyed with himself for the first goal, there was 2 over the ball, the one on the right looked as if he was going to strike it with his left foot, and McGregor moved his weight to the right side in anticipation, but then realised Cazorla was taking it with his right foot and couldn't get across to his left in time. Was a clever fee kick, but one he thought he should have saved.

No player deserves any criticism after that performance.

I have to admit that I was slating Aluko during the match. But I have been slating him for ages. I had to eat my words though and cannot be critical of any of our team now.

The freekick changed the game and McGregor should have stopped it imo.

It was a good yard inside the post and was on the side he was covering. Shame for the fella as I know he's had a great season, but for me if he tips that over the bar you win the cup.

Unlucky lads, I was cheering you all the way, but always felt that you'd lose it once that one hit the net.

True, we conceded far too early after getting the second. If we'd kept it til half time at 2-0 we'd have won.

Also, momentum shifted after Bruce's header was cleared off the line. 3-0 up would have been a mountain to climb.

    Agreed on both points mate.

On the TV at 0-2 it kept showing close ups of the Arsenal contingent (fans, players and manager) and they were all visibly shell shocked, as being 2 down was never meant to be in the script.

The clearance off the line by Gibbs was brilliant, but had the free kick been kept out, you'd have the Cup in your cabinet today imo.

Can't complain but he should have saved that free kick and he's capable too his reaction proved that. We lost, great effort and move on Europe Looms after an awesome World Cup!

Not really. Both goals came from very poor officiating really. McGregor pulled off some great saves at times. No GK in the world would have stopped Gazorla's free kick. Shame we did not have a man on that post to head it clear.

    That's simply not true.

A man on the post would have made no difference, as it was a good yard inside it.

Yes it would. But it was never a free kick in the first place. At that point Arsenal were diving better than Tom Daley and Lee Probert fell for it time and again.

You don't put people on the post for a free kick as it plays their team onside.

Oh but you do especially when it was obvious what he was going to do. That aside we were as good as we could be.
I blame Probert for falling for the dive in the first place.

No-one does that. As if you drop a man onto the post, the opposition can go and stand in front of the keeper! Unless the man on the post was 7ft tall and 4ft wide he wouldn't have stopped it with his head anyway ffs, as it was a yard inside the post and right under the bar.
