Lambert was in for training today and looked quite lean and fit considering he's been off for a few weeks. Was'nt over impressed with him last season. Lets hope he's going to be top marksman this season.

Good to see he is back and raring to go unlike last year when Pardew over worked him and he spent the first half of the season injured or unfit

Bit unfair to say he wasn't any good last year - he played a slightly different role under Adkins and still managed to bag loads - I think he will do well in Championship

i thought he was very good in the 2nd half of the season. it isn't all about goalscoring, and he looked a quality support player. shows how versatile he is

Pretty much this. There is more to his game than goal scoring for sure. He was crap at the start of the season but easily one of our best after the first few horrible months.

his whole game has improved so much in the two years he has been with us. his touch is immense now. so many flick ons, not just with his head, and neat crosses/passes to create scoring opportunities. love you lambo :emoticon-0100-smile

I did'nt mean to make it sound like he was'nt any good last season, he just did'nt look hungry at times and seamed off the pace but did improve a lot towards the end of the season.

I was astonished at the stick Lambert was getting last season. At the Posh home game he was immense but didn't score and I was sat near fans who were giving him grief. He was making good runs, holding the ball up and bringing other players into the game, yet still getting stick because of lack of goals and bring injured and unfit at the start of the season.

Sometimes fans just don't understand the game.

If kept free of injuries he will be immense for our team play this season.

Lambert was easily on of our best players towards the end of the season. He holds up the ball so well and also i notice he actually runs to chase things now, great work by himself to turn it around and of course the coaching team.

If Lambert was poor last season, I'd like to see him when he's good! He scored 21 goals and, has shown under Adkins, that he has a lot more to his game. An unselfish player. He was unfit or carrying an injury at the start of the year, yet still had to keep playing.

I might be a little inaccurate here, but I think Lambert has only missed one league game for us in two seasons and barely rested in the cup matches. That is an extraordinary amount of games and fingers crossed that rate continues.

If you don't think he was "hungry" last season you clearly don't watch the games. His work rate is fantastic. You don't have to run around at 100mph to work hard, his match is based on strength and he is involved in all set-plays in attacking and defending roles and is very much a focal point of our game.

I've got to say Lambert was pretty darn good last season. Yes he only (lol) scored 21 goals (since when was 20 goals in a season disappointing?), but he set up at least 20 more. If you don't want him i'm sure there are plenty of clubs who would be happy to take him off our hands, which just goes to show he aint a bad player.

Agreed. He'll lead the lune superbly again this season. Not many centre backs thinking "oh goody up against Lambert this week"
