If he is right it means the decision has been made. Let's hope it's the right one.

If he is right then the only reason we are having to wait is that our new manager is currently in charge of SL <yikes> and that Jose Riga will be reappointed at our sister Club in Belgium. Is that the right decision? Well it may be the right decision for Roland but for Charlton?

We now have a Pool supplied Media Manager currently based in Europe.... the next thing is that Roland will appoint a Pool Director of Football who will do all the buying of players and allocate them to Clubs in Roland's gaggle of Clubs :(

Our new head coach will be just that..... not a Charlton Manager and I can't see a Brit being happy with that so if it not Riga then it will be some other 'little known' european.

Don't forget Riga was a failed Standard Liege manager himself only two years ago.

I am saying nothing. Do not think it will be Guy Luzon the current SL manager. If it was offered to Riga on the right terms I think he would take it. The silence is deafening though. Let us hope Riga gets a decent offer from RD so we can push on with our recruitment of new players.

Seems to me that Riga is the one good import that RD has brought to the club. Have I missed any others?

Ajdarevic would be great if they played "limited overs" in football. And I am tipping Ghoochannejhad to excel in indoor five-a-sides.

The Barcelona manager resigned directly after saturdays game, and the replacement (Luis Enrique?) is expected to sign this week. Why is it taking us so long, and to what possible advantage. Come on RD, move your ass.

I fear our summer activity might be affected by Standard having to qualify for the Champions League.

In the FourFourTwo World Cup buildup it says that Reza is very well suited to international football's slow build up and that he will do well; even if he won't light up the Championship.

According to tonight's standard JRs future will be decided in the next two weeks as RD is considering other candidates...we don't want to go down the road of chopping and changeing managers every 5 mins done that before got us nowhere.
He kept us up so give him the job .

Slightly different in that he was only appointed on a stop-gap basis in the first place, same as Ryan Giggs. I presume you wouldn't accuse Man Utd of "chopping and changing managers every 5 mins" by appointing van Gaal?

I would prefer us to find the best man for the job, not take the laziest option. We could get away with appointing Euell to replace Nathan Jones as a cheap quick-fix for the u21s, but it wouldn't work with the first team.

That doesn't mean Riga should not be selected if he proves to be the best man. His satisfactory run-in is certainly an asset to have on his CV. Just that he should be considered on an equal basis to any other candidate.

My main worry is that RD will select someone, not on the basis of who will do best for Charlton, but on the basis of who will do best for his empire more generally, and they are a long way from being the same thing.

barcelona have had success by continually appointed old favourites.

maybe we should give this a try, i know one who's out of work.

I'd rather JR than start again with some other unknown foreign signing what goes against JR is like CP he didn't want to play RD's useless imports

Reckon if we were to go down the old players route then Gary Rowett would be my first choice

Wouldnt mind us giving Billy Kee a shot either (Also at Burton Albion)

Excellent thinking. He has worked wonders there.

Unfortunately, unlikely to be RD's thinking. He will want some doormat.

Andy Hughes has told Charlton: Pull out all the stops to keep Jose Riga.

There is uncertainty over who will be in charge of the South Londoners next season as the head coach only arrived on a short-term deal.
And even though Riga did his job - keeping the Addicks in the Championship - he has still not been confirmed as taking the helm in the future.
Hughes has warned that Charlton run the risk of losing key players - and also failing to attract them - if they do not move quickly in filling the role.

He said: “Charlton have still not named a manager and they need to get that nailed down - they are going to miss out on players and existing players. For me Jose Riga is the number one choice. The players like him, the staff like him and he likes the club and area - and he has got a feel for Championship football now, he knows what it takes. The players and staff want him to stay. They need to do what it takes to keep him here. It is vitally important that Roland Duchatelet employs someone this week. They are going to miss recruitment. Other clubs are moving on players. They are missing out. I don't understand the time taken, why is it so long?

They need to appoint Jose Riga as quick as they can. I don't understand why they are even contemplating bringing another coach in. Jose Riga came in when the club was in a tough position and he managed the situation well."
