Sorry Spurm, but I don't like it. I assume that the keeper is an exception to this rule, but it's far too open to abuse.
Say Suarez fouled Sigurdsson, for example. We'd just leave the Icelander on the sidelines for the rest of the game!
It also seems to benefit players who commit really bad fouls over those who merely hurt the opposition a little.
I can see what they're trying to do, but it's pretty unworkable, in my opinion.

I do see what you mean: "Hey **** player, go injure really good player please". Mind you, you could do that now and still keep **** player on the field
